DIY / ION Camera Rail Mount
« on: December 20, 2014, 01:19:31 PM »
Does anyone know where I could get a rail mount for an ION camera or have one made? This 3D model is the closest I can find to actually having something: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:187059

If not then I might just be out of luck and might have to see about mounting it to my mask instead. Just seemed like it would be a lot more fun to have it on my rifle. Unless some one has a rail mounting camera for cheap then I'd appreciate a PM on that subject. Have a great day.

Looks great! Though I would suggest thinking about keeping it just below DMR status. That way you can keep the looks and performance, but be able to use it in closer ranges if necessary. Other than that it looks great! Bonus points if you do a sweet paint job on it.

People with Real Life NVG experience *cough*JBagel21*cough* will undoubtedly have their own opinions and thoughts.

Ouch Joe! I mean.... ouch. Just because the one time I actually got to mess around with NVGs and I couldn't see more than 5 feet in front of me. Doesn't mean I don't have experience. hahah. I will agree with Jbagel and say that it was a very informative read. I obviously learned a lot from it. Considering when they gave use the NVG class at MCT I was fighting to stay awake. I would definitely suggest anyone interested in getting NVGs to read the article first and make an informed decision.

Off Topic / Re: New Army Camo Trials
« on: October 09, 2012, 11:03:11 PM »
the Marine Corps refused to allow the MARPAT pattern to be used by any other branch, resulting in the ACU/UCP pattern getting rushed into service after being selected by the cadets at West Point. Multicam will remain our primary Arid/Desert pattern for the near future

2 things here.

1. We don't refuse people. Y'all just can't handle the amount of awesome contained in MARPAT. I mean its called MARINE PATTERN! Its the best stuff ever! Ok enough moto from me. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't Spec Ops Forces like Delta Force allowed to wear MARPAT or is that only the Seals?

2.  Cadets......really? That's like asking a recruit which exercise he would like to do next in his IT session. They picked the one that was the cheapest and then went back to picking their noses and talking about how cool its going to be to be an LT.

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure they where seriously considering helping troops out in the field when they made y'all blend in with.... that one 1970's couch. Ok enough of my rant against the big war machine they call the Army. I love that y'all are going with multicam and hopefully whatever else they have y'all get next is as good as that. Multicam is an outstanding camo.

P.S. At least y'all didn't pull the one that the Navy did.... blue digital.... ok. Some one had to be smoking spice when that decision came down the pipe. (If you know what I mean)

Welcome blackwell and other new players. It is always good to have people highly interested in milsim join the air-soft community.
Though Blackwell I'm not exactly sure how the Armies tactics of sending in the Marines will help you, but you can give it a try.

I am not sure of how high FPS most places allow for AEGs, but I am thinking around 375-385 fps should be fine. With .25g bbs of course. I just want it to be able to hit something fairly accurately at about 50 feet or more. So I don't need it pushing as close to 400 or anything. If anything id rather have lower FPS and more accuracy. Thanks again to everyone that is working on it for me. I am assuming this is Evan, but thought you might have some one else tinkering on it! haha.

General Airsoft / Re: Airsoft as an addiction?
« on: June 03, 2012, 02:33:00 AM »
Airsoft is an addiction like working out is an addiction.... except I actually like to play airsoft! Hahah! Except for the expenses of going to games  and gear its a very good thing. I mean you are outside all day (or inside at the CQB) and you are sweating the entire time while running mostly everywhere. Its basically all around good for you. So when you get restless and fidgety just go outside and shoot some bbs off at a target! Might help! hahah
