I used to own a WE Tech M14 GBBR and I loved it. That being said, I sold it because I could only use it for part of the year. The weight of the mags was something I liked at first but grew to hate. It also shot almost 500fps making it limited to the Sniper role which I didn't necessarily like playing all the time. But when I did use it for that role, it was an almost euphoric experience to feel that recoil and see my target's reaction to the hit. All that being said, I sold it because it wasn't getting used hardly at all.
I am also now an owner of a KWA ERG. I got one as soon as they were released even with the bad taste in my mouth that I had from the 2GX version AEG's. The recoil is suprisingly impressive. Everyone doubts it (including myself) until they experience it. I also try to only use the ERG specific PMags that can be switched from holding 30rds to 60rds. I also love the fact that it was setup with a. 14.5" barrel and a mid length handguard system. The reason I enjoy those specifics so much is that me real steel 5.56 AR is the same way (14.5" barrel, middy gas system) making it the most ideal training/MilSim replica on the market for me. Mine is now setup exactly like my real steel and the training transfers from airsoft to real steel perfectly. My only gripe is that you absolutely can NOT wire it to the rear due to the recoil system unless you want wires being exposed and have a battery bag on your stock. I have attended a couple OPs now with this replica and I love it. One being SoGo's Zombie Outbreak where I figured out a way to lower the FPS in order to use it.
Overall, if you're only going to be usin it mostly indoors at SoGo, a GBBR will be a really fun option that probably won't give you much trouble. If you plan to use it outside for bigger OPs or game days, be prepared for it to sit dormant for at least half the year. The ERG on the other hand is a little soeacial when it comes to downgrading the FPS for CQB, but once it's done and you know how to do it then swithig back and forth from indoor to outdoor events won't be a problem at all and it will be a great all-year-around replica.
*if I had to do it all over again with the knowledge I have now, I wouldn't even consider a GBBR.
