Oh, and no, using standard mid aps will not damage the ERG in any way. It just simply won't stop firing when you're out of ammo like the PTS mags will.

To lower the FPS you have to remove the stock then take the cap of the buffer tube. After that you have free access to the recoil system and access to the main spring. I simply threw in a short M100 spring. There is another piece of a spring on the opposite side of the main spring from the recoil weight that buffers the impact of the weight against the buffer tube cap. I left the original stuff spring in but ended up loosing a lot of the recoil effect. I think one could take a full length M100 and clip it to put the lover portion as the main spring and the small section as the buffer spring and retain the recoil effect. KWA suggests 11.1 lipo in stock form and I back that decision 100%, his ever if you lower the FPS you will have to go to a 7.4 lipo or a similar battery or the gun will double fire every time.

The recoil compared to say a WE M4 with green gas is actually fairly close. Trust me, the videos don't do it justice. It's more impressive than it looks.

I used to own a WE Tech M14 GBBR and I loved it. That being said, I sold it because I could only use it for part of the year. The weight of the mags was something I liked at first but grew to hate. It also shot almost 500fps making it limited to the Sniper role which I didn't necessarily like playing all the time. But when I did use it for that role, it was an almost euphoric experience to feel that recoil and see my target's reaction to the hit. All that being said, I sold it because it wasn't getting used hardly at all.

I am also now an owner of a KWA ERG. I got one as soon as they were released even with the bad taste in my mouth that I had from the 2GX version AEG's. The recoil is suprisingly impressive. Everyone doubts it (including myself) until they experience it. I also try to only use the ERG specific PMags that can be switched from holding 30rds to 60rds. I also love the fact that it was setup with a. 14.5" barrel and a mid length handguard system. The reason I enjoy those specifics so much is that me real steel 5.56 AR is the same way (14.5" barrel, middy gas system) making it the most ideal training/MilSim replica on the market for me. Mine is now setup exactly like my real steel and the training transfers from airsoft to real steel perfectly. My only gripe is that you absolutely can NOT wire it to the rear due to the recoil system unless you want wires being exposed and have a battery bag on your stock. I have attended a couple OPs now with this replica and I love it. One being SoGo's Zombie Outbreak where I figured out a way to lower the FPS in order to use it.

Overall, if you're only going to be usin it mostly indoors at SoGo, a GBBR will be a really fun option that probably won't give you much trouble. If you plan to use it outside for bigger OPs or game days, be prepared for it to sit dormant for at least half the year. The ERG on the other hand is a little soeacial when it comes to downgrading the FPS for CQB, but once it's done and you know how to do it then swithig back and forth from indoor to outdoor events won't be a problem at all and it will be a great all-year-around replica.

*if I had to do it all over again with the knowledge I have now, I wouldn't even consider a GBBR.

I like to keep this handy (pumps shotgun) for close encounters.

Watched a video from Scoutthedoggie on YouTube last nite that had a guy with a totally legit looking Aliens Marine loadout with the pulse rifle AND heartbeat monitor. It was pretty sweet.

I am the only member of Delta 9 and Aesir strategic that has any sort of heavy weapons equipment, mine happens to be a long 203, and I almost never use it. Do I like the extra weight added to my primary? No. Do I like adding weight and bulk to my kit by carrying shells and rockets? No. I was HWS at Broken Home 2 and only used it once. That being said it was in the final minutes of the game fending of a desperate last resort push by UFS to gain ground before the game was called and we had technicals trying to strafe us from the roads and I managed to bid behind a downed tree stump and hit a technical right in the passenger side quarter pannel killing the vehicle and the load of troops in the back. So, all worth it? Yes.

I run a G-Code Mule drop leg with the quick change RTI system so that I can easily change from my 1911 to USP45. I used to own the Blackhawck but it sat way too low for me. The Mule ride a lot higher than most drop legs but lower than a typical belt holster. For me it's perfect. You can also get RTI attatched ya to mount Serpa's, Safariland's, and other holsters to the G-Code system.

As some have already posted, the Beta's basically aren't worth their weight in recycled plastic. I've known guys to get a pack of 5 and only have one working within a month.

The mag issue is due to you loading way too many rounds into them. Weather they're supposed to hold X number of rounds or not, it's like cleaning your ears with a q-tip, stop when you feel resistance.

I'm diggin' the M4, Mickey! Looks almost exactly like my real steel M4 aside from my barrel being 14.5" and the rail being 13".

General Airsoft / Re: Thunder B Grenades
« on: December 09, 2013, 01:10:02 PM »
The cool thing about SoGo is that there are cameras everywhere and no one can really get away with jacking one of your grenades. I use tornados at SoGo personally and have never had an issue with someone trying to lift it. Is that a cheaper option? No. In the long run, it is. At SoGo you have the ability to reload the BB's, gas, and re-oil your grenades after every game at your leisure. If you used a tornado just around 10 times or so in one day and it still worked, it would be worth it. Other than the tornados I can't think of any other effective option that is allowed at SoGo other than maybe an M203 with a 40mm shower shell.
