Engagement Distance
« on: February 12, 2015, 10:40:59 PM »
You know I want to post this link because we always talk about how a person doesn't know how far to be away from a person to call safety. Watch this video and tell me guys do you all think this guy shot his enemies to close? I believe there was a few close calls that could easily been safety kills.

That's just LevelCap. He's a relatively new player and the field he was playing at has optional safety kills. Not saying the safety kill distance isn't something to be worked on though. Also you titled the thread "Hit Calling" but then talked about engagement distances so I'm not really sure what you meant to talk about?

That was my fault ... i should have entitled it engagement distance. Thank you mickey for explaining that... i still do not believe that there should be anyone shooting that closely though man.

Lol thanks Joe. I wasn't trying to be a nazi or anything I was just confused... And yea, we're a lot more used to a more mature "friendly" version of airsoft but we've also been to enough fields to know that everyone does it differently. A good point you bring up is the concern over new players (like LevelCap) learning play styles like this and then not being able to switch over to a less aggressive play style for different fields. It's kinda scary to think who the new guys might be taking pointers from...

My point exactly us being veteran players should care more about safety and having fun over winning, but the thing is a lot of people go on the internet and see guys like this and think they can take this play style everywhere. I just wanted to see if I was being overbearing or not.
