Well for once I actually did finish a project!
As all us skinny guys know, the Blackhawk leg platform for the SERPA is made for the bigger-legged operators out there, and just can't cut it for the tall skinny types! However, the 5.11 Thumbdrive leg platform is smaller, and actually fits the skinny people. Problem is, the Thumbdrive holster is too expensive and doesn't fit all airsoft Glocks, even though the 5.11 leg rig is quite affordable, unlike the Blackhawk.
So, I decided to take my two favorites and blend them. I think the offspring came out quite well!
An advantage of the 5.11 is that there's a swivel below the buckle that allows the platform to swing as you move your hips, instead of bunching up like other leg rigs.
Another plus to the 5.11 is that it actually fits over belt loops!
Now...how did I make them work together?
I just drilled out 3 holes wide enough and properly spaced to fit the SERPA, then used the screws from my Blackhawk S.T.R.I.K.E. plate to secure it to the panel.
Hope you all enjoyed! And I hope this will inspire skinny people to do the same, or anyone who wants the benefits offered by the 5.11 drop leg platform.
