Hey guys Mickey with So Go Airsoft here. I've been looking at doing a new build for a very unique outdoor gun and just wanted some feedback. The platform I'm looking at customizing is an SR-47. For those of you unfamiliar with it, the SR-47 is basically an M4 that takes AK magazines (the real steel version is made by Knights Armament, a favorite manufacturer of mine). This kind of weapon is useful for anyone like me who has an abundance of AK magazines, but wants the feel of an M4.
Until recently, the kit to convert an M4 into an SR-47 was only available from Hurricane and cost over $400. Along with the high price, the proprietary hop-up chamber was notorious for feeding issues. Recently a new kit has come onto the market and has gotten much better reviews in terms of function (at a fraction of the price). Unfortunately it still has a proprietary hop-up due to the difference in shape between M4 and AK magazines, but not much can be done about this and its a very minor flaw to me.
This build won't be cheap but I'm pretty dead-set on what I want it to look like and what parts I'm going to use. So what are your thoughts on this build? Whether positive or negative, your input is appreciated.
Say what you want about the Pimp-My-Gun program, but I feel like this is a good representation of what my build will look like
