Title: Gear Load out
Post by: Shaggy on October 03, 2010, 08:02:48 AM
Well I posted a list of stuff Id like to Jon, but I figured he would probably be super busy with keeping So Go awesome and what not so I thought I should ask all the other airsofters(that a real word?) about ideas and sites and stuff for gear ideas.

To give an idea of what im looking for its an American (USMC) loadout. Looking at an M4 or maybe M16 with a glock or M9 sidearm. Regular Lazer and Reddot sights on Primary weapon. Nothing on sidearm. Molded hard holster for sidearm. A flak(tac vest) with molle. a couple of double mag pouches for Primary and 1 double for Secondary. Drop pouch. and matching water source! Thats the basic idea for my load out. It will be used in CQB and hopefully some cool outdoor ops and stuff. Im thinking streamlined, but that would be how its all set up. Oh and I sorta want some new knee pads since the ones i have make my knees reallly sweaty and hot. Idk if that can be fixed with different ones or if I just shouldnt care except for astheticly speaking making it better looking :P .
So now for the hard part. Getting the details of all the gear. I would like links and stuff if yall could help with that. If you find something that looks tight link it or give me the site that has alot of gear and ill browse through that.

thanks
-Shaggy

Well with the mag pouches it depends on whether you're playing CQB or field, and what capacity of magazine you're using.

Couldnt be that big of a difference. Just need ones that dont stick out too much when im playing outside. So will probably be same color as vest. I can mod them to whatever works best in each environment. Though thanks for thinking outside the box :P Id be using probably Low or med cap mags. Since I hate High Cap.

yeah me too. ha

Well I've never played outdoors so I can't give you advice there, but indoors, with an average ROF AEG I recommend carrying 1 mag in the gun and 2 spares on the body. that's with my 100 rd midcaps. so like 6 or 7 30 rounders.

So I would recommend getting a double open top single mag pouch.

For mags Id probably have 2-3 pouches open either way. With one in the weapon. I was just hoping for more info on weapons and where to look for the gear at. Like websites and stuff like that. Thanks for anyones ideas on this stuff :)

i might go with a 1911 for outdoor play its a bit thiner than alot of other full sized side arms

Thats a very interesting idea. I might look into that. I always liked the look of 1911s over other weapons. Though they tend to be too thin for my hand and felt weird.

For a vest I would recommend a crossdraw vest. It has some molle on it and it doesn't break the bank like other molle vests. It runs at around 50$. They had them at so go last time i checked.

I'm a huge pistol fan with a modded, TM M1911 GI, and haven't considered buying another pistol since.  It's the only one you'll see me running with, indoors or out.
Of course, this could be said for a lot of people in Airsoft, but that should only mean good things about the pistol.
