We play with our GBB pistols still.  I just keep the mags in my pocket until I am ready to use them and if I think I need extra help I will use hand warmers.  And I do have a AEP also that works just fine.  I just don't have as good a time with it.  But that is just me.

Jon
So go Airsoft

I have both and I definately like my GBB better.  But you are right the AEP's or pretty reliable no matter the weather.
I like my AEP.  Love my GBB

I use a Glock 17 and 19 for backup.  But I do like the feel of the 1911's also.  I just prefer my glock.  The Sig's feel decent at times.  I like the TM Sig.

I do like using a variety in Sogo's myself, but I can say I have the MOST fun using a Pistol.  Especially when going against a big number of guys that are still shooting full auto AEGs in there.

Now, I am very uncertain of AEPs myself.  I've not seen any good ones being used I don't think.  Low low FPS, small cell , small out put batteries.

GBBs, I don't own one, but my team leader Cody has quite a few. I do like them now I've played with those in Sogos a few times.

I have a NBB , it was decent, until it's fixed hop-up system went to crap our last Trigger Day. They don't make the gun I have anymore, so finding a replacement part might be near impossible.

I'm hoping to be able to convert my NBB to a GBB , but will have to have Cody look at it to see if it's even remotely possible.  If so, I can fix the hop-up because then the system will be slightly different with new parts.  Mine has a slide system already, it just doesn't BB.

My favorite pistols in airsoft have been the glocks, and the P229 series.  1911's run a second to them.
I tend to like the compact shooters.

I've been considering getting some revolvers... but I am a bit worried that they would be all junk. I think it'd be fun having to switch out shells and such while playing though.
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Reverandff7 on November 25, 2010, 12:42:08 PM
Well never even seen a revolver ... that would be hella fun lol especially the ones that have the spare pieces you put in freakin awsome!
I did notice you said low low fps on AEP's right... My cm030 shoots 219 with .2s if that helps any. Also my friend has the Double Eagle m81 that was cronoed at sogo at 230fps .2

Automatic Electric Pistol if i am not mistaken... basicly its an electric pistol that is not BB its just stationary. Alot of the higher end AEP's have been coming out with v2 metal gearboxs like the CM series from CYMA

??????
I thought there was only C02, Spring and Green Gas.......
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Dragon on November 25, 2010, 01:51:14 PM
I'll hafta take a look at an AEP next time i'm at Sogo's if anyone has one, or Jon brings one to show off.

200+ FPS is surprising to me... for Sogo's I bet it'd work pretty good at those velocities.
The ones I seen for sale, were like 100-150 FPS shooters... not clear if that was with a .2 or .12 either.

I hadn't looked for a long while now... really got more interested in researching GBBs and revolvers.  My NBB I could use in CQB or out in the field... so It wasn't high on my priority list. Especially when Cody had some extras I could use if I wanted to.

Yeah.. I think revolvers would add some realistic element to the game. Only 6 shots, and you gotta re-load.. either by the bullet shell, or the fast revolver option.
It might kinda suck though... since I'd be about the only person having to reload every six shots... but, then again, that might increase my playing skills too.

Well if i get a chance to come down anytime soon ill bring it by for sure. I know that Jon has one but i dont know which one he has and if has one with a gearbox to it. My rof is pretty quick aswell so i dont know
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Supercell on November 25, 2010, 05:59:41 PM
You know I really haven't researched much on my AEP.  Mine has a decent ROF and the last time I chrono'd it with .25 it was at the 225fps.  Again with .25's not .20's.  When I have a chance to charge my battery's I can play most of the day if not all.  And of course I don't just run through ammo either so that might be the reason it doesn't die on me.  It doesn't have the accuracy I would like.  Just the ease of use and no cold weather problems.  And it is a G17 and has the cyma sticker on the bottom.  I bought it off of a guy 2 years ago.

Yea i have the same style JON my cm030 is the cyma AEP and it shoots hard it doesnt play around. It is not that percise but... Its a pistol that is kinda what i wanted.

I have the Double Eagle M81 USP, and I have found it to have a great hop up, which gives mine some pretty good accuracy. :) Wish I had a CM030 with some 50 or 100 round mags though.

Dont Know really
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Reverandff7 on November 29, 2010, 05:38:35 PM
Well in my op i would go UTG just a little bit more expesive but they put a bigger battery in there.
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Boba Fett on November 29, 2010, 11:14:59 PM
I didn't know UTG made one, cool. Does it use DE style mags or TM USP mags?
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Reverandff7 on November 30, 2010, 07:11:54 AM
Same style mags there is no difference but i think the utg one is harder to get... also there is a TM AEP of the m93r that seems be out performing the rest of the AEPs.
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Boba Fett on December 02, 2010, 03:06:23 PM
DE and TM USP mags are totally different. Yeah from what I can tell the best AEP's are the TM M93r, the Jeike M93r, and the CYMA Sig.
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Reverandff7 on December 02, 2010, 03:16:34 PM
Agreed... I will second that fett... Like i said being an owner of an AEP acually makes a difference of what you think of them. Cause normally most people think that aep's are just 4 AAA batteries in guns.
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Boba Fett on December 02, 2010, 10:36:18 PM
Yeah I know. A lot of people on my team have or at least respect AEP's since they saw mine.
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Reverandff7 on December 03, 2010, 07:09:27 AM
The differnce still is the Power and fancyness of a GBB is better. The thing that i like most about the AEP is the consistency of every shot. Loading the mags and everything... plus the fact you can hold more rounds in one the a GBB or NBB.
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Boba Fett on December 05, 2010, 08:45:35 PM
Yeah and gas mags fit in pouches sooo much better.

Agreed again cause i lost my stock mag for my cm030 lol. I lost it in my pouchs fell out somewhere and now i can not find it anywhere. I think im going to have to get a hold of mom to make me one hehe jk

So just wondering everyone... The FPS on there AEP's what are they. If anyone knows the FPS on the cm122, cm121, DE m81, and the m93r by either of the companys.
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Supercell on December 10, 2010, 11:06:07 AM
The 3 AEP's that I have chrono'd have all been around 220-250fps.

There are some lower ones but so far the ones that came through sogo had those numbers.
Jon
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Reverandff7 on December 10, 2010, 11:54:02 AM
Ok thats awsome... i know my cm030 crono'd at 210 .20 rounds in it. Now Jon what is a normal FPS for a GBB or NBB or CO/2 if you dont mind me asking.
Back to the issue at hand though i am trying to kind of get the AEP name back out there to show people that the AEP is still a contender in the pistol race just i dont think that it has the apeal of a GBB. Thats just my op
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Supercell on December 10, 2010, 06:03:54 PM
GBB that we normally have at pistol night are between 280 and 300fps with .25's  The NBB that I was using here were all right around 300fps with .25's.  Co's and not consistant in what they fire.  I would say 5% that I have chrono'd could play in here and they seemed to have been made with a better way to make them consistant.  Otherwise they chrono up close to 700fps to start and then go down the more you fire them.
Jon
So Go Airsoft

Wow my guess was around 800 would be around the legal limit for 6mm. hahaha

Yeah AEP's are great for those on a budget, or those who don't like gas. Or do like batteries.

paying fr gas isn't that bad if you use propane.... aep's are ok but they are'nt as realistic......
thats my opinion at least

Your right there is no BlowBack on AEP's... but in there defense there is easier maintence then a GBB
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: jesusfreak101112 on January 03, 2011, 11:07:57 AM
ya and they're cheaper
but on the blowback thing.... Some do blowback..... my first pistol was an aep that blew back unfortunately I broke it...  :'( :'(

oh is there a differance..... ??? I guess I i don't know a whole lot about aep's

my bad.
Title: Re: AEP's
Post by: Reverandff7 on January 04, 2011, 02:54:21 PM
yea The difference is the EBB(4 AAA batteries)   AEP(Rechargeable 7.2V 450mAh NiMh battery)  GBB(Gas, Propane, CO2)  NBB(Gas, Propane, CO2). There are other terms im sure that i dont know about.

NP i love my AEP and its awsome for a intermedite side arm. And all the highcap mags for it have 100 rounds ... in a pistol thats amazing.
