Title: new gun
Post by: Chigger on July 19, 2011, 09:04:58 AM
Well I upgraded to a bigger gun. I had a TM MP5, but realized that there were not that many upgrades available. So now i have a Stag-15, and holy cow are there upgrades. Don't get me wrong, the TM was a beautiful gun and shot even better than it looked, but now i have something with endless options.
My plans: Replace the body with a full metal body, install a tight bore barrel, mount a scope, and use it as a sniper/assault weapon.  ;D

ICS has a few different stocks and foregrips that fit Marui's, so if you keep your mp5 you still have a few options, depending on which style it is.

I have seen the upgrades for the MP5, but I am happier with my Stag. I traded the MP as partial toward it. Again, so many more upgrades, but thanks for the reply.

I know the what you mean. I have two m4's loaded to the max with accessories. I've heard people say "everybody and their brother has an m4" and that may be true, but with all the modular real estate on them, you rarely see two that look the same.

Pork you make an amazing point... i made the same mistake about thinking about the m4 as "cookie cutter" gun that everyone has. But with all the modes its amazing what you can make the m4 do. Not to mention that even some of the m16 mods aswell. I had jons team build mine from a TM gearbox and a CA body. It was such a pain that Jon named it "The Project" lol.

I've heard the M4 rifles often reffered to as the "Barbie Doll Gun". The reason for this is because you can do so many different modifications to them and you can accesorize them like there's no tomorrow!

heh,

I'm slowly becomming a MP5 fan.  Nothing wrong with an AR variant at all...

i kinda like the fact there aren't a ton of accessories for the MP5 series... it keeps it simple, and yet still a very effective weapon.

I love the slimmer and lighter mags.  In my m4 full set up... I can carry 4 mags on my chest, 4 in my drop leg, and 6 on my belt pouches.  Thats 14 AR mags.
Take the same set up...I can carry 6 mags on the chest, 6 in the drop leg, and 12 in my belt pouches for the MP5.
I primarily use Midcaps, so in AR situations... I can hold up to roughly 1400 ( 100  rnd mids ) rounds ready to go, on full load ( for field and OPs)
Most the time I only load up a few and carry less on me than I could carry.

or on the MP5 ( 190 round Mids) 4,560 rounds ( roughly) ready to go and loaded, using the SAME SPACE as the M4s take up.

The MP5 is lighter, the mags even loaded are lighter.  Since it has limited rail space, it can't be "loaded down" with too much stuff to add to weight.
It has a generic higher ROF, making burst shots more accurate and consistent... still packs enough "punch" to be used as a primary ... but small enough to be maneuverable.

I didn't like the MP5 at first... it took me quite a while to grow into it's merits, and recently since I fixed and made mine perform much better ... I've become quite the fan of them now.

ARs are still , very common, and there are loads of aftermarket parts, and even options of models out there... which make them a highly desired AEG. I have em too... lol, nothing wrong with ARs.

I used to have an M4 RIS for a while. They're "standard" for a reason. They're very original and are, as everyone has said, ridiculously customizable. And the mag swaps are faster then any long gun out there!

I do like the mp5 style is amazing. I saw one of the new mp5 styles cant remember by who but it has a computer chip in it for programing how many rounds for each fire selection. Like you can set up the automatic to just be a 3 round burst instead of automatic... you can make the 3 round burst a 2 round burst. Also make the semi-fire anything else. Its freaking awesome but super expensive but it comes with the computer thingy. I tested fired it and its go eat for sure. Its totaly field ready and the tare is easy in all mp5 in my opinion.
