Title: Broken Record
Post by: bgallion on August 06, 2011, 12:19:40 AM
Ok, fellas (and ladies).

I realize that I have posted about this a couple times now but I just wanted to update everyone. The following is an announcement from Christopher Larson.

Heads-Up...

Pre-Registration ends Wednesday, 31 AUG.  That's the end of this month!

Note that the pre-registration date has been extended two weeks until the end of August.  That is because many of our ROTC cadets and midshipmen requested that we start our fall semester two weeks later into the year, in order to give them time to learn their schedules.  We are accommodating that request.

That means the Warrior Basic Course (WBC) will NOT take place over the Labor Day Weekend this year!

17 & 18 SEP = WBC & LLC
15 & 16 OCT = STX
04 ~ 06 NOV = FTX

Also, you'll note there is a new mailing address for the registration.  The new address is posted all over our website and, of course, is also listed on the new registration form.  The new address is:

TacComp Media, LLC
2600 Oakfield Drive
Columbia, MO 65202

...

Everyone who knows me can tell you that I greatly enjoy the One Shepherd training. Not only is it great for anyone wishing to further their "warrior" skills in airsoft but also great leadership training for those of you who aspire to be leaders in organizations you choose to participate in.

You may ask me any questions you have regarding the training.  One thing to note is that the WBC is the entry point for the training.  You MUST attend the WBC before you can attend any other training One Shepherd provides in the Common Core Curriculum.

More information at www.1shepherd.com

I hope to see some of you at the events!!

Just a notice to everyone as well. You can gain all these amazing leadership traits by giving a few years to your country and joining up! That is just a side note to all the awesome stuff you can do. Like stand post, watch paint dry, and get hazed! So many fun and interesting things! hahah Thought I would offer this as a public service announcement.

^^^^^^ by the way I am not really advertising you to join up. It was a funny(even though I have had all those things happen to me). Though if you are planning on joining up please name drop me to your recruiter before you sign any papers! haha

These courses look like a lot of fun actually. If I was in the reserves I would totally go to them. It seems like it would be quite the experience. I recommend it to all people looking for a broader knowledge base and want to become better airsofters. <--- totally endorsing the above post now.

Many student members use One Shepherd's leadership training as a spring board into military service.  And a lot of Cadre are either retired or have served.  In 1S, you will dive into ideas and content that you would learn if you were to attend Officer Candidate School (OCS).  In fact, past students have mentioned that there is quite a bit of overlap when they attend OCS.  The main difference is that the student to instructor ratio in 1S is small allowing for a more learner centric atmosphere.  In One Shepherd, they create a safe place to fail and learn.

What is great is that if you know you want to join but you are still in high school, you can get a jump start in your knowledge and experiences by attending One Shepherd.  On the other hand if you do not want to join but just enjoy being in that kind of atmosphere and enjoy military things, then you can definitely get your military fix through One Shepherd on the weekends.
