Title: Shot Show 2012
Post by: Supercell on January 13, 2012, 10:00:19 PM
Ok guys it is that time again.  Heading out to Vegas for the Shot Show.
But this time I am going to take some more people to help scope out all the new things coming out in Airsoft.
Instead of just Lyn and I.
We are taking 5 other Airsofters with us.
2 employees and 3 of our regular players.
It will help us alot in getting around to see everything and talk to everybody.
If there is anything you want us to find or ask anybody please let us know.

We do have some shipments coming in while we are gone so be sure you make it out to look and to play while we are away.
And thanks for your support.
Jon and Lyn

Wait, I've got his. Something good! But seriously, I'd like to know what KWA or Classic Army might be coming out with. Thanks, have fun.

We had folks with KWA questions.  To wit,

Q:  I've got a KWA GBB gun.  The velocity is too high for So Go CQB (limit is 300 fps measured using a .25 g bb; about 330 fps measured using a .20 g bb).  Is KWA coming out with jet nozzles that will reduce my velocity to a So Go legal velocity?

A:  Depends.  If you've got the old style KWA system (pre-NS2) then the answer is, "No".

If you've got a NS2 system then the answer is:  "Sort of".  None of KWA's products will reduce the velocity below 350 fps.  KWA uses the same jet nozzle in all of their pistols, excluding the MAC11.

KWA said, in theory, if you took a Dangerwerx lo flow valve or a using the valve from a KWA MP7 or MP9 low velocity bolt and it might reduce the velocity to So Go limits.  There had been no attempt to test this theory.  So, there you go.

Keasop, I'll see what I can do.

J Man 3, I'll try to hit KWA again tomorrow.  They had the 945 there but I didn't hold it.  Shifty held one.  He reported the slide kept sticking.  We supposed it could have been just that one gun.  But think about it:  your company is going to the SHOT Show and your company is displaying its products to an international pool of potential buyers.  Now, wouldn't you want each and every item to be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT?

Substandard prototypes, eh? I'll be having none of that, good sir. Ya know, I kinda like the look of the 945, and I'm all about pistols but I really want someone to make a S&W 4506 so I can finally live out my Vic Mackey "Shield" inspired fantasies. Enough with the Glock knockoffs and railed tacticool junk, someone make me a 4506 right now, I DEMAND IT!

J Man 3,

I checked out the 945.  I encountered the same slide problem as Shifty.  I pulled the slide back and released it.  The slide moved forward, then slowed to a stop much too soon, leaving the chamber still open and exposed.  This may just be a lack of lubrication or a lack of final machining.  Either way, it's not my responsibility to explain or defend a multi-million dollar company's quality control.  Hopefully, the final production models will work smoothly.  Knowing KWA, they will be just final.

The 945 is a compact pistol, comparable in size to the Baby Hi-Capa.  It was far too small for my hand.  J Man 3, our hands are about the same size, IIRC.  I don't know how it will feel to you.  I don't have any emotional investment in the issue, I'm just sharing my thoughts.

I asked about release date and cost.  Both are TBA.

My understanding is G & G is here but they don't have a booth.  I haven't had any luck finding anyone who can speak for the company.

I will check distributers tomorrow, looking for someone who can give me info on ICS or WE.

I appreciate everyone's support and positive feedback.  Thank you for letting me share with you.

Brendon.  They can sell and make the CA Scars.  Remember i told you about the licence.  Spartan has the licence to carry Scars.  Taking down the posters were only during the time where they were waiting for that licence.

Are you sure you're not thinking of someone else? Because I would have a SCAR now if I was to remember, either that or you sounded like a school teacher when you said so. Anyways, all around, nice to know.

Netshark:

I checked on the WE GBB P90.  It's not licensed yet so it's not cuurently available here in the US.  My understanding is negotiations are underway.

ARES M1?  I haven't been able to find out anything.

ICS M1?  Spartan did not know anything about it. They mentioned the Marushin M1 but I trust you already knew about that one.

Brendon,

I spoke with Spartan this afternoon.  Spartan is not importing Classic Army SCAR replicas due to licensing issues.  Spartan is importing the VFC SCAR, both because VFC has a license and because the VFC build quality is so good.

They're right about the build quality.  I got to hold it.  It's nice and solid.  Because VFC has a license, it's also got full trademarks.  It looks sweet.

I'm working on my Spartan entry.  You can see the completed Spartan entry in the Diary thread.

the Marushins are a big steaming pile... they have 3 known parts to break that noone makes a stronger replacement for. and the ares only has a few protype pics, the ICS hasbeen announced but no pics of info as of yet from what i see. thanks for checking for me joe.

Brendon,

I need to add I don't know if Spartan has any Classic Army SCARs in stock.  And then, I don't know the legal starus of any in-stock Classic Army SCAR inventory.  You can always ask--the worst answer you'll get is, "No.". Followed by, "But we have the VFC one with full trades for about the same price."

Brendon,
Joe is correct about the VFC Scar.  I will tell you that Spartan told me I could buy the CA Heavy Scar during the show because they have it in stock.  We are not sure after that.  But the VFC Scar is an awesome feeling gun.  But talk to Adam he has had one for 4 years and just can't get it fixed for some reason.

I don't recall seeing anything like that.  Wish I had known sooner, I'd have been looking and asking questions.

Travis,

At the risk of seeming disagreeable, no, it doesn't.  All it means is I don't recall seeing any.

Travis,

I should elaborate.  There were over 24,000 booth numbers encompassing at least three levels of The Sands Convention Center.   There was no way to cover all the airsoft and airsoft-compatable displays in the short time we had.  I could have easily overlooked, or just plain missed, exactly what you described.

In short, don't give up hope.

Just for a little more info.  The Sands was a Hotel Casino a few years back.  But alot of new casino's and the convention center took over the valuable real estate.
