I was just wondering, are the Classic Army Sportline internals the same as the Classic Army Proline?
-
No or they'd be the same ;D. I'm actually not 100% Sure on that but I'd like to find out myself. Nice topic
-
Well I own a Classic Army Sportline and honestly have not had any problems. I have thought many times about doing numerous upgrades to it, but I have never gone too in depth because I was never sure if it was worth it to upgrade or just get maybe a Proline or just any reliable gun and downgrade the spring. I have contemplated a metal body, new gears, etc... but after i add the total up i could nearly get another gun! haha Actually right now i am thinking of selling it but im not sure 100 percent..
-
Keep the plastic body for being light weight and easier to take apart if you do upgrade. I have a proline haha. But I would just stick to sportline everything until it crashes on you. Which would probably be a while. My sportline I sold is still going strong nearing two years in a few months. If anything, just do external upgrades.
-
I believe mine is about a year and a half old. Also, can Sporlines handle a lipo? if so, i might go ahead and do some upgrading. I know i will have to do some internal upgrades for a lipo because that plastic spring guide will not last long lol
-
No. Prolines aren't made lipo ready. I doubt sportlines are. Maybe for trigger response I would do it, but to go full auto and such no. What kind of mags do you use? High cap, mid cap, low cap?
-
Well ive been trying to switch to all mid-cap and thats mainly what i use now. Beta Project Pmags lol and i love them!
-
Thats another issue with Lipos. Your mag might not be able to keep up. Im not trying to be negative. I just want you to remember some possible consequences based on your decisions. All around, keep the sportline stock until it gives out. Then do upgrades and such.
-
I got ya :D Well as long as we are on the upgrade subject, what would you recommend as a rail system? im not a big fan of the original 2 piece ris and i have been looking at the free float rail systems. i would like to have sort of like a slick look to my gun (free float ris, flip up iron sights, peq box, holo or red dot sight), mainly just cqb friendly.
-
I don't really mess with rails and such. But If I were to choose a rail system, it would have to be a Daniel Defense rail. Though I don't know too much about rail systems. I just like the way things look haha. If you're going to So Go this weekend, ask around. To keep it CQB friendly though, I'd get something like the stubby killers rail system. Don't put too much on it, keep it to a sight and maybe a peq box for battery storage.
-
Well i have the peq box for light/laser and as far as the Daniel Defense rails... they are a bit too expensive. i mean that rail system costs half of my gun! lol ill look around and see what i can find.
-
Terribly sorry about the late reply. Not that this is a personal message haha but, a P.E.Q only decreases space. Which its not that much, but the less there is on a C.Q.B gun the better. Lights and lasers are nice to have, but they are always easy to get around- so it basically just gives the enemy a position to aim at and go around to. Though flashlights can be annoying. It all really depends on your playing style.
-
Well i am a big fan of ******+++++ Gearheads series on YouTube and i really like Tims loadout and i think im going to aim for something like that. Probably go with a free float ris, flip up sights, and keep my holographic i have on there right now. I might do away with the peq box but it does come in handy sometimes.
-
I have seen some of their stuff. I don't think I've seen that particular one. Anyways, you're going for C.Q.B right? You play at So Go, right?
-
Yup thats right.
-
Make sure everything you do is considered comfortable to your playing style too then. Using a full length rifle is a little harder in there. Try to keep the barrel short, which you can do with an external modification. Which I would do if mine wasnt made for other things.
-
Well i have already put a C.Q.B length barrel on it which works really well. Really right now all i am looking to do is beef it up a little and make suit my taste and make it something im proud of. Im sure you can relate. lol I have thought of making my SCAR-L my CQB gun but then that would leave me out of an outdoor gun.
-
I had a SCAR at one point. Nasty, if I say so myself. What brand is it?
-
G&G Armament. I really like it, although as an outdoor gun i would have expected it to be more accurate but thats nothing a tb barrel cant fix.
-
So far, I've only seen one sportline with the same internals as the proline, that's the ICS mp5's. However, Ive seen several players with CA and G&G sportline m4's, and they've all really liked them, for the most part. I got a CA proline m4 back in '05. Did a few basic upgrades, (spring, inner barrel, piston & piston head) and ran a 30amp 10.8x3000 nunchuck in it. One moose of a battery, I only burned up one trigger in the 3 years I owned it. Also, G&G's sportline mp5 is a very good value for the price. When we first started playing, UTG had an mp5 on the market that was only $120, came with two super high cap mags, a nice 3 point sling, and a double railed riser mount. Internals were nothing to shout about, but they took a fair amount of the abuse we gave 'em, and they were marui compatible. Put this alongside the $40-50 in accessories that came with it, and it was the best bang for your buck deal I've seen. I can't imagine why they didn't stick around.
-
Well im really considering making my SCAR-L my primary cqb weapon and making my Sportline my outdoor gun. What would i need to upgrade/reinforce to make it able to handle an m120?
