Joe! Thanks for your post.

My guns inner barrel is natively 395 so that added length is only my flash hider (which is on the gun always) maybe this gun just shouldn't go indoors :-(

DIY / Looking to do some serious upgrades....

I've been wrestling with buying a new gun or just sinking some money into my ERG and I've came to the conclusion that upgrading gets me more bang for my buck.  So I'm looking at some overhauling and I wanted/needed the help of this community, here's my thoughts.

--Prometheus 6.03 455 steel barrel
--Maple leaf 70* bucking
--ICS Aluminum piston
--Guarder Bore-up cylinder set
--Burst Wizard Mosfet (shooting over 400 I'll have to have a way to turn off full auto)
--I'll use the stock spring but purchase a Matrix 120 spring to change over when I go to SOGO (ERG's have a quick change)

Am I on the right track with these?  Any thoughts/suggestions on different items?

I'm not necessarily looking for 400-450fps, just solid and consistent with good accuracy

I'll probably be using .28-.32 bb's outdoor and the normal .20 indoors

I appreciate the info thats sure to come!!

I guess another question is it even worth the trouble to upgrade to the point of being a good DMR? Maybe I should just stay under 400fps and leave as a standard rifle?

Stock it's a 395mm 6.05 barrel and it has a drum hop unit. I've actually had this gun for a while  it haven't considered upgrades until now.

I believe Armour from the instigators has the same guy  but I can't seem to get a hold of him in regards to what, of any, upgrades he's had done.

As some of you may know I'm the proud owner of a kwa PTS scout erg. I'm going to be doing some  upgrades to it and one of which is going to be a new inner barrel.

My question is 2 fold :

6.01 or 6.03

455mm or 509mm

It will be a DMR so any input is appreciated.

General Airsoft / Excited and sad at the same time.........
« on: April 02, 2014, 06:17:05 PM »
I don't know if anyone feels the same way I do, but when I get to make the drive to Sogo I have a night of fun, friendship, and learning.  I get excited about playing the sport that I've come to love and invest in, and then I head home.  This is where I get sad, I feel like I live in a void where airsoft players exist, and the want to play is there, however there is no place or home for us.  There are paintball fields just almost literally in my backyard but they wont "allow" airsoft because either their netting isn't strong enough or they are afraid of some negative stigma that airsoft players are this bunch of overly aggressive, destructive, jerk's that only want to infest an area till its burnt out then move on.

I wish that our sport would grow in our state, I LOVE Sogo and I'm in awe of everything they've done for the sport and they are the reason I've gotten as far into it as I have (without them I wouldn't have met any of you).  It makes me wonder why their aren't any other real facilities in Mid Mo, why hasn't this sport caught fire and inspired someone to make the investment (believe me I have sat down 100x and tried to figure out if there was anyway I could pitch an idea to a bank, but alas I have not the financial means to accomplish anything).  Why have we garnered the reputation of a destructive group, why do paintball players see us as an infectious virus (please spare me the "because paintball sucks" routine, both are fun in their own right).

I just get down after getting to play at a facility where our common love is supported and incubated and then coming back to my home area and knowing that it's going to be another couple of months before I get to enjoy this again.  Maybe this was just verbal (or typed) diarrhea that I wanted to spew, but I just wanted to get this out there and spark some real though on it.

I appreciate you all more than you know, and the friendships that I have forged through pain and sweat has left me with people that I would trust in a real world situation (Tang you can bandage me any day, Gauge I'll stand next to you in any zombie apocalypse,  Nerd I'll clear a plywood maze with you at a moments notice, Joe you are the modern day Macgyver, Rev........well we'll leave that in the bedroom, and to all the rest of you that I haven't mentioned I'm sorry)

I look forward to input, output, and just general banter.....

Most fun I've ever had in airsoft that night.  The crowd was great, the players where awesome, the new layout was amazing, and I got to do first aid on someone.

Fenix checking in, I'll be there

I still have the scar, the stock part didn't hold from your glue.  What would you be willing to trade for it?
