In my opinion, Tokyo Marui 1911s and Western Arms 1911s are the best in the market. The only complains I hear about TM is that they are made out of plastic and not metal. TM are cost at a reasonable price and WA are higher in cost. As far as I know TM and WA doesn't make any Glocks, there are a few companies out there that make Glocks. Classic Army Glocks have been getting some good review these past few months, Jon has ordered them before in the past, you can ask him for more information about them.

Aye, I as Tang said. Both those companies are great. I think the KWA 1911 PTP series wouldn't be bad either, though I remember we had I think they were few M9 PTP's that were over the fps limit(I don't know how fast the 1911's shoot, but I'd think it would be similar).  If I were you I'd stay away from WE, KJW 1911's. Don' let the metal body of them fool you from the TM. I can't count how many times I have seen someone drop the WE and it break. So far I have only seen two TM's that broke from it being droped, and they had gone through the ringer. I've droped one of my TM 1911's maybe 2-3 times and so far nothing, but a little skuff mark on the side of it. I have seen the iron sights get damaged before on the TM's when droped(As in the plastic sight just kinda gets smashed and wont be level with the onther sights) I have seen WE's been droped the same way and not only would the iron sights just break right off but the slide would be damaged also.

The KJW Glocks would be my second choice. If I had to choose a Glock I would probably go with KWA(But as we all know - Have fun trying to find one.) I probably wouldn't get a Glock 18 if it were me(alot of moving parts to go wrong, and you can ask any of "SGTU" and they'll tell ya about what they've seen).

After everything I've said. When dropped a TM can break just like any other. I just haven't seen it happen like the others.

Consider those things before you buy.
That is my opinion.

i would look at KWAs line up of 1911s they look really good and there is lots of different choices to choose from you can get them with the bottom rail (MK2 and MK4 i think have them) and they have a few really great ergonomic features with the magazines and the different pistols from MK1 to MK4.

If you want a glock the ksc's are really nice (probably the nicest one's I've seen on the market) If you want a 1911 I would go w/ the kwa.

Well said, Dog.
Go with the TM 1911, either MEU or GI, and never worry about a pistol again.
