need some opinions
« on: October 08, 2012, 06:05:36 PM »
I am looking into getting a new m4, i was looking at three guns in particular, the classic army x series, vfc e series, and the kwa m4.

Im looking for a gun with nice externals and good internals.  Ive heard the vfc is the best externally but ive read some iffy stuff on internals, classic army all ok from what ive seen nothing great but works and looks good, and the kwa i know looks and works great but the mag  issue ive got 6 plastic king arms mid caps and 1 high cap g&g.

Thanks guys for any info

Hey Raven Lyn got that list for you.  We are still waiting for the place to tell us if they are in stock or a timelime before we got with you.
Hopefully tomorrow.  So at least you have something to compare everything to.  So you can make your decision a little easier.

I've owned a fair share of KWA AEG's in my day and so have pretty much all the members of Delta 9. I'd say 9/10 have broken down just as fast if not sometimes sooner than 'cheap' AEG's. For their price tag, I honestly don't think they're worth anywhere neat what they bring. The have a lot of proprietary little parts here and there that can make them a real headache to upgrade or modify.

Classic Army's LWRC's are supposed to be really really good. I've held them and the externals are truely great. I do thinkg they're electric blowback though, so no bueno on that part. But then again, electric blowback can easily be removed to add longevity to your internal parts.

Other than some random things here and there, VFC's are king when it comes to overall external quality and internal quality. I have a VFC SCAR-L that weighs way less than the Echo1 or DBoys SCARs while having better quality internal AND external parts. The only thing that has broken on this SCAR was before I owned it and the stock piston stripped. It stripped while SoNorUs owned it, and even HE got the gun used, so there's no telling how much it had been shot by that time. Plus SoNorUs likes to shoot full auto a lot. ;)  Most VFC's shoot with a really high ROF too. Maybe not quite up there with stock KWA's, but it's darn close. For about the same price as a KWA, you can get a lighter wieght and more reliable gun with a VFC. If I'm not mistaken there's an Echo1 M4 that is actually a VFC that you might get for cheaper. I think it's the 'Platinum' or something like that.

If I were you and were going to pick from those 3 brands only, I'd have Jon get in touch with Elite Force ( all their high end M4's and even the PDW are VFC's) to get your new gun. The quality is amazing and their customer service and warranty is literally unmatched by anyone else.

just my .2g.

I was leaning towards the vfc just because ive held that a buddy had a long time ago.  And ive seen your scar and loved the way it shot, so elite force is the same just with a better warranty?

Pretty much. All their 416's, PDW's, and most higher end M4's are all VFC's. SoNorUs has an Elite Force PDW and their new 4CRS. Both are 100% VFC.

Here's a video from Elite Force's website. Pay attention to the warranty time he mentions. :o

Raven I am waiting for Lyn to get up here today to get me that list.  Are you leaning toward the VFC and/or Elite Force?

I am working on an order with them now that is why I am asking.

My first M4 was a Classic Army, and I ran thousands upon thousands of rounds through it that year and it always stayed reliable. I took a look at one of the Echo 1 platinum m4's a couple of years ago. First thing I noticed was the entire hop-up unit was a clear plastic that looked more brittle others.
The Elite Force m4's have a slot at the top rear of the mechbox so that the spring and spring guide can be removed without opening the gears, making velocity changes a breeze. They appear to be a fairly affordable gun, also.

I have heard great things about vfc. however I have been running a kwa Sr 10 since 09 and I have been running a Lipo on it ever sense it has not miss fired or laid down on me once. And I have played very heavy what with doing most of the loin claws series that were close to cali and every Saturday play with my old team so there have been an untold number of rounds put through the gun. I may bee just lucky I guess but that gun is going to the girlfriend and me and john are working on finding a new one for me so I guess we will see. But that's my 2 cents I love my kwa.
