Appraisal?
« on: June 08, 2013, 09:02:52 PM »
Hypothetically, someone is selling a We 1911 MEU kit. Its seemingly well kept, 4 working magazines and a mock suppressor. Its got some internal upgrades as well: reinforced nozzle, 120 nozzle return spring, new madbull bucking, and a tight bore barrel.

They are wanting 200 for it, being as new as I am I dont have the built in knowledge of parts and what things bring on the used market so I dont know if this is the right price, a deal to jump on or over what it should be. So Im gunna leave it to you all.

Well first off I would have to see it and really look it over.  The extra mags help a bit with this and the suppressor if you like that sort of thing.  Or if you think you can end up selling that to help offset some of the costs.  I ask myself who has owned the gun before me and how have they used it?  Or have they have taken care of it?
As for the price I wouldn't pay it with the info I have right now and knowing the costs of new WE 1911's.
As for the upgraded internals, I don't usually let that play a major part in deals like this.  Unless again you know the history of the parts.  Like how new or if they were installed by someone that knew what they were doing.  And if those new parts are even worth the cost of buying a used gun.
Again this is only based off the info you have given me.  As far as I know it is a really sharp gun that was really taken care of.  Or just a regular WE 1911 that someone is tired of and wanting to get some extra money.
Good luck.

Pretty much what he said. I do like mine, but I would never pay $200 for one. Not ever.

What would you all say would be a safe offer for it then? I'm not afraid of possible leaks as I'm an extremely competent airsmith

Heck, I'd go for $150 at most. Only because of the extra mags and suppressor.

I agree with shifty... You should just buy new if the person will not come down to the used price you would like to pay for it. I have had to learn this the hard way.
