Airsoft and Halloween

Hey guys, just wanted to say something. As many of you know I work at So Go Airsoft and have been going there for years for all of my airsoft needs. Iv'e seen a lot of cool things and met a few interesting people but there is one thing that, until today, I thought would go without saying. DO NOT INCLUDE A GUN (Real-steel, paintball, OR airsoft) IN YOUR HALLOWEEN COSTUME. Law enforcement has a hard enough time dealing with the usual Halloween antics without having to worry about subduing some ignorant teenager with an airsoft gun. It's not fair to police faced with that decision, and it's not fair to the sport's reputation. There are already various politicians calling for the banning of airsoft because of the very few who cannot be trusted with the privileges it entails. So please, leave your AEG, gas blowback, or springer at home. Dress like you're ready for combat if you must (with respect to those serving, of course), but please don't let yourself become "That moron that got airsoft banned." Have a safe Halloween guys.

Seriously, this is something that shouldn't even have to be said! Unfortunately, there are folks that do this every year. If your costume has to have a weapon, a brightly colored rubber gun is probably the best idea. That's what I do for mine on Halloween and it works pretty well, not to mention it's fairly inexpensive. Like Mickey says, don't take your airsoft guns out in public no matter what. No one needs to risk life and limb for a Halloween costume.

I recommend Nerf guns if you really feel the need to have any kind of "weapon" (Just PLEASE don't shoot unsuspecting people with them). I felt the urge to post this after a couple of customers expressed interest in using their airsoft guns with their costumes, under the excuse that "The orange tips would be left on" and that "They wouldn't be loaded". It's a reckless and dangerous idea orange tip or not. Halloween is at night, and nighttime is dark. Use your head, people.
