Custom Unique mods
« on: May 06, 2014, 12:44:06 PM »
Ok I am trying to get some action up here so figured I would see if anyone would like to share some of there Idea's for some awesome mods. If you already have awesome mods post them show us we will love to see them no matter how crazy they are.

I myself am aiming to get 3 archive parts for my g17 to make this look as unique as possible. I know its going to cost a pretty penny but I am ok with that because it is going to be worth every bit of awesome. If I even could remember how to post pics I would totally do that lol but I will modify this later but I figured I would start the thread to get to see some crazy stuff.

Duct tape is now available in a wide variety of attractive colors and patterns.  Paisley duct tape will separate your gun from the boring black, dark earth and olive drab herd.

Duct tape:  the ultimate customizing tool.

All kidding aside, my first upgrade is almost always a 6.03 tightbore barrel.  I'm partial to the Prometheus brand but Mad Bull barrels are also good.

Aesthetics have never been my strong suit (insert duct tape joke of your choice), obviously.  A custom paint job works wonders on almost any gun.  There are plenty of styles and techniques.  You can find information online or in magazines.

So Go also offers gun painting as one of its many customizing services.

Different grips, stocks and add-ons (from the practical to the tacticool) also help your gun stand out from the crowd.

EDIT:  I also like to add a red dot sight to my AEG replica long arms.  This is not for style but for a practical purpose.  Properly dialed-in, the sight lets me know where the bb is most likely to hit.  I guess that counts as customizing.

Sometimes this requires adding a sight rail or an elevated sight rail before I can attach the red dot sight.  I guess those also qualify as customizing pieces.

Thank you, Metal.  I appreciate the compliment.

Not sure if it's technically an upgrade, but I short stroked my friends hi capa. It was originally the WE CQB Master Alpha with the split slide, so it already had a respectable cyclic rate. Now it's faster. Eventually I will probably make it full auto as well for ultimate shiggles. I also have a WE G18c on the way that is immediately getting a new polycarb nozzle and stronger return spring.

I did have an idea that I posted in the DIY section that I'm still thinking about and have revamped a bit. Basically you take the Matrix M500 and attach an LE stock and pistol grip, continuous top rail, and holosight. Initially I was going to try and do it with a tri shot but that quickly churned out multiple problems. I have yet to start this project but I think it would be a monster in CQB and definitely unique.

Joe, I also share your rationale for optics on your rifles. I hardly ever use one without some sort of red dot.
