I've had both and I personally prefer Magpuls. They're a lot easier to "install" and you can switch them to other magazines if you want to later down the road. I usually only go with the ranger plate if I'm using PMAGs. As far as actually pulling out your magazine, its gonna come down to your draw style I suppose
