M249: which variant?

After thinking hard about it(and still torn between this or some claymores), I starting to save up for an M249 SAW. My main decision here is which variant to get? Full stock, folding stock, or para? Please share your knowledge, opinions, and recommendations with me!

M249 MKII

Advantages: better "feel", since it's an LMG, and it's big like one should be; barrel length might help accuracy; easier to hip-fire; More balanced weight;
Disadvantages: Heavier than other models; large to maneuver in tighter places and transport.

M249 MKI

Advantages: Japanese-style stock in case I eventually get a JGSDF uniform; Stock is big enough to get an LMG "feel", but can be folded; Long barrel;
Disadvantages: Might be front-heavy due to skeletal stock;

M249 Para

Advantages: Compact for tighter places, or if I want to switch springs for CQB; Will transport much easier; might be lighter;
Disadvantages: Might not be as accurate: harder to transition from should to hip and vice-versa;

Well I've seen some Para models in action and I have to say that if I owned them, I'd be VERY disapointed. Both I've seen have terrible accuracy and range. Also the Para model's stock is one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever used. The full size versions have MUCH better range, not to mention the full stock allows you to house some huge batteries which in my opinion are a MUST for a support gun not to mention the added comfort when you're using it. Yes the full size version is bigger and a little heavier, but if you've already decided to take on the size and weight of a support gun I'd go ahead and take on the full size.

If anything dude, get a full stock for the bigger battery. It is absolutely KEY to a support gun. My friend's A&K para model will only fit an 11.1v 1600mah as for a best battery in the given space scenario. I'd rather run a 9.6v 5000mah or even a little larger 'brick' lipo.

Thank you very much for that intel Metal!!! I'd almost ruled out the Para anyways, and now I think I'm leaning toward the MKII now. If I can an adapter I'm going to put an AK74U flash hider on it if I get one. lol

Honky has a MKII its pretty sweet, acurate and shoots pretty hard, i'd reccomend going with that, the skeletion MKI stocks look like they'd snag and get in the way as they look a little longer, and you cant support it on top of your shoulder like the MKII model. if you ever watch iraq footage when entering a house they'll rest it on top of thier shoulder to squeeze in tighter places.

I Personally own the MK1 variant by A&K , and the wire stock does NOT fold. It is incredibly uncomfortable to shoulder, and hip firing isn't much better. The worst part about both the para and the Mk1 variants is the front handguard. It is horribly secured to the receiver body, and falls off regularly. This is an easy fix with duct tape, but looks rather unprofessional. This front handguard also houses the awful small battery compartment. The biggest battery you can get is a small 8.4 v, and for this reason i am rewiring it to the rear and buying a MK2 stock. If you havent decided yet, i hope this helps you make a good decision.

I have now decided, that if I get a SAW I will be getting the MKII!!! You guys' opinions have been invaluable to me! You can google all you want but nothing compares to solid advice from solid friends!
