netshark, I appreciate the fact that you made your post actually about the topic and didn't just post something stupid that has nothing to do with the actual thread.
To answer your question. There is no PT training stuff with One Shepherd. So preparing yourself physically for the military is something you have to do in your everyday life working out.
The training is relatively laid back. There isn't any drop and give me 20 or anything like that. You learn different skills through practicing them. In some training events you will have a classroom type of setting, but then you will go out and practice it afterward. I personally think the cost is very reasonable.
If you attend a lot of airsoft games. You are likely to spend between $50-$150 attending an event. And it is usually only one day.
In for the cost of a One Shepherd event, you get:
--- Food Provided
--- Use of Night vision
--- Training
--- Use of Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES Gear)
--- Use of an AR-15
--- Blank ammunition provided
--- MORE
One Shepherd training is geared toward teaching you leadership skills. So not only will the training help with our abilities on an Airsoft field but also in your everyday life.
You said you are going into the military... This training will put you leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of your buddies in basic. A lot of what you learn in One Shepherd training, you will hear again in basic and even further into your military training. Not only do you get the training from the organization but there is also a lot of "mingle" time in which you can talk with a lot of people who were in the military. I have learned a lot at One Shepherd training events that was not part of the "curriculum" through just talking with other students and cadre.
If you are interested in going, I would definitely give it a try. If you are unsure about the military, this would be a great way to find out if you want to join. If you are set on joining and enjoy that type of atmosphere, then there is a 95% chance you will enjoy this training as well.
Finally, check out the website for the Programs and Courses to see what kind of stuff you will learn. The Common Core Curriculum is what you would want look into.
