Hi My name is Shaun and i'm part of the NOVA team based in Rolla,MO. I've really only played at SoGo and i find its quite an enjoyable place along with the great services and fun they offer. I currently use an old TM P90 with a 1500 round box mag and have a mp5k and WWII Thompson replica that I use rarely atm for cqb games. Used to play paintball but I don't find it as fun as Airsoft plus it's easier to get a game going. As for names i've been called I think trigger might be the only one I have heard and theres a funny story behind it. You can ask Rev for details :D

Joe is usually pretty good for advice, or can usually point you in the right direction, plus he is an AK fanboy :D

For cqb, assuming it shoots around the limit just get a 9.6v quality battery (intellect, elite) sogo carries some intellects. Will up your RoF, sounds a lot better, and it's always good to have a spare battery (or 4).

IMO accuracy upgrades are not neccesary for cqb. Others may disagree. Other than that, get an extra mag if needed, but if it has a hi-cap, you're set, if not, he's shooting too much :)

Welcome to airsoft Westy!

Do you currently have any gear at all?  Where are ya located?

marksmen, or Sniper rifle shooting in airsoft is a very ... complex role.  I'm not saying anything to disuade you from the role, if your interest really are in tune with it.
That being said... quite often, marksmen generally spend a bit more up front for their rifles. Most sold stock, will not get you close to the accurate ranges you need to be shooting at.
It really takes patience, and a good understanding of airsoft and playing the role on a team.

Most airsofters consider the role to be very lone-wolf, but it actually isn't.  It is a very team coordinated and designated role.

Good luck with what ya do decide!

Welcome to the community, just a tidbit about sniping, most courses requre you to become known by the community and get permissions to become a sniper. and with most AEG's that'll outperform a stock sniper, and the cost involved in creating a built sniper. i'd suggest going the rifleman route, you'll definately apprecciate having an AEG once you try one. back on topic, what region are you in, and welcome to the sport, i'm pretty new myself but i'm already hooked on the sport, if you ever need any help or advice i'm sure anyone here will be willing to help.

Thank you Joe and Matt for the info on Sniping, and to awnser your questions im currently located in rolla,mo which is a good 100 miles away from springfield but i plan on going to msu for college so hopefully after may 24 i can get started on that, at this point i have no gear so as my rank right now that is what i am. I have the money for some good gear, i just need to buy it. Id only be able to participate in certian events, casue my work has me working crazy hours, but before i get the gear i have a couple questions
1. Matt, what kind of special permission would i have to be a team sniper
2. what kind of enviroments do we play in "woods, Urban,etc.."
3.do we just play in missouri or do we also go to other states and play?
4. and what is the age requirement to play, becasue my cousin will be starting up when he also gets the cash and he is 15.

Oh, we have some Rolla guys that come down for our D-9 hosted trigger days.  They also participate in Rolla and Springfield as well ( or I am guessing they do, lol) ...

I'll Pm ya some contacts and maybe you can hook up with them and be able to come down when they do.
