Not really new or new to the game.   I was registered on the old board and got lost due to a new addition to the family.
Anyways..
Name:  Jason
You can call me Red or Red Cell
Years playing airsoft:  13
Infatuated with IPSC and USPSA

Gear:  TM AK - B  with midcaps, UTG Benelli Clone (tons of shells),  TM MP7 with a few mags, and a couple of KJW P14s.

Looking to build a racegun one of these days and would like to see if anyone is interested in doing some 2 gun or 3 gun competitions with pistol, shotgun, or rifle.

Hello,

My name is James, some people call me Effect, I'm 21 years old. I'm fairly new to airsoft, having only fired real firearms and paintball, considering shooting real firearms at people is bad, and paintball can often be somewhat lacking, I thought about giving this a try. I look forward to potentially playing in some events.
I live in Branson, but stop by Springfield quite often, and will probably be moving up there some time within the next month.

heyas Effect!

 Since I'm not a SA Admin, I can't officially welcome ya to SA's stuff... , but welcome to Airsoft all the same!

 There's a Group around Branson area called "51/50" , they've played at Sogos a few times with and against Us D-9 guys , and they've came out to our field for an OP once.
 Not a bad group of guys... they have a facebook page if ya are interested in getting in touch with them for local stuff.  From what I understand they have a field up there somewhere...

 But Sogos and SA here... also excellent places to learn and play with alot of great guys!

Hello all, my name is Jason and I am getting into airsoft here in Springfield and was wondering where I could play or sight in my sniper rifle. Neighbors get a little wierd when you pull out a sniper rifle in your yard. LOL  All I have to start with is a Tokyo Marui MP5 and Well L96 AWP. I don't have any tactical gear yet or a side arm. Can I still play without the tactical gear or side arm?

Welcome aboard, Chigger.  Always glad to have folks here.

You don't need tactical gear or a sidearm to play.  Both of these things can make your play a little easier but they're not required.  I used an Israeli paratrooper bag the last time I played outdoors. It functioned just fine.

Since you ask, may I suggest:

(1) A full face mask.  A paintball mask is perfect.  A good mask is still cheaper and more comfortable than dental work;

(2) Gloves.  They reduce the sting of hand hits;

(3) Kneepads.  The first time you kneel on a bb you'll be glad you have them;

and, finally,

(4) Gender-specific protective gear.  Ladies, a vest, hoodie and/or a padded bra will help.

Guys, some form of groin coverage, a cup, towel and/or padding is good.  I've seen guys go fetal after taking a hit "South of the Border".   It doesn't have to be bulletproof; just strong enough to absorb the shock of impact so you don't have to.

Welcome Chigger.  Joe has already given you great advice so I will answer your question where to play.  Have you been down to So Go Airsoft yet in Ozark?  I am the owner and this is a great place to meet alot of players.  Even those from out of the area.  Your Mp5 would be perfect for the CQB envirement.
Can you tell us anything else about yourself?  Age, past Airsoft experience (if any, we have alot of new players coming in all the time) and do you play with friends?

If you have any questions there are alot of informed people on here.

@ Joe, Thank you. Great info.
@ Jon, thank you as well. I am a Chef by trade. I am 34 and my past experience in AirSoft is None. I have done Paintball in Cali.

I have not had a chance to get down to SoGo yet, as my Days off have fallen on the days you are closed. I hope to get down there soon though. The video with the Army on your Website is awesome. Hope to play soon.

Hello,

My name is Gabriel and I was introduced to airsoft at Sogo and love it. I had a group of guys that used to come a lot. Then I got married and had to take some time off. However, I am back and ready to play! I am wanting to play in ops or other special events. Hopefully I will get a chance to meet most of you.

Hello,

My name is Brendon, I come to sogo to often but they still have been like a family to me, I've been playing for 10 months now and I am happy I've spent the money I have throught the last year. Not a lot, other than you're more likely to see me, I'm shorter than  most considering I'm younger than other regulars. Thats about it, peace.

Fail.
