Hey guys, I'm one of the other admins at MMA.  I figured I'd make an account on here and chime in.  I had minimal involvement with this OP, but I'm glad so many people showed up.  MMA isn't used to those kinds of numbers, so it was definitely a learning experience.  All feedback and criticism here is greatly welcomed by me, as I'm preparing an OP later this summer and am eager to make sure mistakes made during Black Cloud aren't made in the future.  Black Cloud was a huge learning experience for us at MMA, so again thank you for attending and giving the necessary feedback!

Expect an announcement for a summer OP soon...

Edit:  This was meant for the AAR thread.  I don't know why it was moved.  Please move it back.

Rich,

I moved your post to this Introductions thread because:  (1). someone's first post is supposed to be an introduction and (2). your post seemed like a very nice way of introducing yourself.

It's nice to have you here.  We look forward to the pleasure of your company.

Like the forums suggested there is a Introduction thread for first time posters. That being said we are glade that you are here and we do welcome you here.

Hello.  My name is Kyle.  I have no airsoft experience what so ever.  I have played alot of paintball in the past but always wanted to make the jump to airsoft.  Only issue is all the guys I played paintball with quit the game all together.  I would like to start playing but wanted to see how active the sport is in the area before I go and spend tons of money on equipment that I wouldnt use.  Also been looking for a decent gun to get started with without breaking the bank.  Again in case it didnt pan out.  Want something im not gonna hate in a month but still not $600.  Ive been looking at the classic army m4.  Any opinions on ca?

Welcome Squirrel! SoGo airsoft is the mainstream CQB place in the springfield area. They are just north of Ozark on the Lamberts exit. If you go to SoGoAirsoft.com you should be able to find directions. They have open play most weekends and monthly events. So I would say that it is pretty active!

Awesome.  How often are there field games (wooded areas)?.  Also are there any urban type environments that you guys play on?.  I came across some ca colt guns on ebay and they look like the same guns in mc sports in the mall.  Are these true ca or are they cheap knock off junk?  Also apologize if spelling or weird letters pop up in my posts.  Im on my phone.

We normally have field games when it's more temperate out so more towards fall and early spring and depending on the weather because the field we use floods very easily. . .no urban/rural fields near that I know of but CQB is a BLAST, i started playing about 3 years ago and have no intention of quiting the sport and if youre looking at guns and gear just head up to So Go, they have plenty of guns up on the wall right now and if they don't have what you want there, they can order it for you, and they're very knowlegable on all types of guns and gear, and the most expensive gun you'll be looking at (withoout going for the rare/exotic stuff) is about $150 to $250 and it's a blast no matter what gun you get but just go up there and take a look I believe they're open 12-7 on most days but they closed tuesday

Yea, welcome Squirrel8811.  Come on out and see us.  Glad to have you on here.  I started the store in here 5 years ago knowing only 9 Airsofters in the area.  And trust me, there are a bunch of Airsofters in the area.
I have been in Airsoft since the late 1990's.  And we are the guys who invented the first Airsoft Claymore in 2001.

As for guns at the store.  You will find all different kinds.  Alot of time we get in what they have just produced.  Airsoft guns are made in Lots and then they don't make them for 6 months.  They just change their tooling over and make other guns during that time.  Sometimes we will have alot of clones and then sometimes we get a bunch of the higher end guns in stock due to the Distributors offering better deals.
There is alot of Rebranding that goes on.  But keeping up to it isn't always easy.

Again, Welcome.
Jon

Welcome sir.  Let us know what you need exactly.  Stop in the store and take a look around.  Test fire a few guns.  And just get a feeling for things.
