Springfield Airsoft LLC Rules (subject to change)
« on: May 16, 2012, 11:49:54 PM »
SPRINGFIELD AIRSOFT LLC RULES

1. Minimum age to play.  Generally, Springfield Airsoft LLC requires players to be at least 16 years old.  Springfield Airsoft LLC admins may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

2.  Goggles must have a SOLID LENS and be FULLY SEALED.

Mesh goggles are NOT permitted.  Shooting glasses are NOT permitted.  Safety glasses are NOT permitted.

Each participant is responsible for providing his or her own approved eye protection.

3.  Players under the age of 18 must wear hard, full face protection.  Paintball masks and hard, lower face masks (metal mesh or hard plastic) are both acceptable.  So Go Airsoft, our sponsoring retailer, stocks suitable lower face masks.  Soft face protection, such as shemaghs or neoprene face masks, is not acceptable for players under 18.

Springfield Airsoft strongly encourages ALL players to wear hard, full face protection.

4. Bring at least 1.5L of water.  This can be in the form of Camelbacks, canteens, or water bottles with names on them.

5.  Bring food for your lunch.  We usually play through at least one meal.

6.  Bring a red rag, handkerchief or some other piece of red fabric to use as a dead rag.

GAME RULES:

7.  Cold smoke is often permitted.  Please check for each planned event. The property owner has the final decision.  Weather, wind and terrain conditions will affect that decision.

Hot burning smoke, handmade smoke devices and fireworks are all forbidden.

8.  Hits, medics and bleed out.  Any hit to a player, including helmets, gear, hydration packs and items in one’s hands (except guns), are all eliminations.

We often use a simple medic rope system.  A medic unties a knot in the rope and the player is back in play.  Only a medic can heal another medic.

Our games are usually short.  We do not use bleed out rules.  If you are hit then a medic can heal you or you can return to your respawn area.  Once you have entered your respawn area then you may return to play.

These medic rules may change, depending on the game we play.

9.  If you are hit then place your red dead rag on your head.  See Rule 5.

If you do not have a dead rag then raise your hand or your gun over your head and return to your respawn.

It's a good idea to shout, "hit", "dead man" or such.  Do this when hit and while returning to your respawn.

If you do not use a dead rag, raise your hand or gun over your head then you can expect to be repeatedly shot until you do.

GUN RULES:

STANDARD AEG:
AEGs must shoot 400 FPS or less, measured with a .20 gram bb. Minimum engagement distance for a standard AEG is 20 feet.

Anyone may use a standard AEG.

DMR/SAW:

***USING A DMR OR SAW REQUIRES PRIOR SA ADMIN APPROVAL***

DMR/SAW guns must shoot 450 FPS or less, measured with a .20 gram bb.  Minimum engagement distance is 50 feet.

DMR must be fired only on semiautomatic. They can be capable of fully automatic fire but don't shoot them that way.

The SAW category is measured by FPS. For example: If your M60 shoots 375 FPS (measured using a .20 gram bb) then SA will treat it as a standard AEG.

All DMR/SAW users must have either an airsoft weapon system (<400 FPS using a .20) or pistol (GBB, NBB, AEP or Spring) to engage targets within 60 feet.  Standard airsoft weapon system and pistol minimum engagement distance rules still apply.

DMR/SAW users may not safety kill with their DMR or SAW.  This is because of the risk of having to fire the DMR or SAW within the weapon's minimum engagement distance.

Using a DMR or SAW weapon requires SA approval.

SNIPER:

***USING A SNIPER-GRADE RIFLE REQUIRES PRIOR SA ADMIN APPROVAL***

Sniper guns may shoot 550 FPS or less, measured with a .20 gram bb.  It must be a bolt action rifle.  Minimum engagement distance is 100 feet.

All Snipers must have either an airsoft weapon system (<400 FPS using a .20) or pistol (GBB, NBB, AEP or Spring) to engage targets within 100 feet.  Standard airsoft weapon system and pistol minimum engagement distance rules still apply.

Snipers may not safety kill with their sniper rifle.  This is because of the risk of having to fire their sniper rifle within the weapon's minimum engagement distance.

Using a sniper rifle requires SA approval.

AMMUNITION AND MAGAZINE LIMITS
Plastic bbs only. No .12 gram bbs (except in grenades and mines). No other ammo or magazine limits.
