So I was recently pushed into being my teams sniper I won't be full time but wile I am I want to be afftive (airsoft snipers arnt) without MAJIOR upgrades and what this whole topic is about is for u all to help me know where to start with my gun I have an a&k svd shoting just over 500 fps..... if u all can just push me where I need to go..... needing to make it super accurite with supper long range

Are you wanting to build a semi or bolt action rifle. Is there a certain style rifle. I know Echo 1 just released their new Red Star CSR it seems like a pretty hyped gun right now is based off the SVD running a new gear box with 4 gears instead of 3. It is defiantly worth checking out if that is the style you are going for.

There's a lot more to being a sniper than just having a high fps bolt action rifle.

Ya I know there is a lot more than the high fps so I'm now a sniper bs but I'm the most "woodie" out of the group not to mension the best shot but there is a lot for me to learn and that's what I was kinda wanting help with and what upgrades to add.... I wish I could afford a know rifle but I was layed off 2 weeks ago so I wll have to go slow on upgrades but they will all get in there hopfully =/ and joe thx for the lead =)

After nealy 4 hours on all different kinds of fourms I think ims starting to get a good idea of a parts list but one thing I keep reading about but not finding any pics or places that carry them are R hop up units if anyone knows where I can get one or if sogo can get them.... will probly call them tomarrow about it.... if I can get a little more info on them..... and any n all help is welcomed and greatly appercated

Actually from what I can tell about the A&K SVD, a stock one should serve the needs of an interim sniper just fine. .28 or heavier BB's are mandatory. And as long as you're filling in for that role I recommend a bipod and a scope (a PSO-1 or PSOP to maintain your reputation with the SVD, haha). Otherwise, for the purpose of filling in temporarily, I wouldn't upgrade the A&K SVD.

Well the stock hop up is old and very incosestant (I'm 3rd owner) it already has a scope and mount thank god lol and bi pod is on the list =) but what the plan is it will be up graded within our group and then when there is a des. Sniper it will be givin to him/her for cost of new parts

Oh i see. Yeah a bipod and a hop-up. If it's the spring version then I don't really know what else there is to upgrade save the barrel.
