Zombie Event Aug. 17th 5-10pm
« on: August 05, 2013, 03:16:26 PM »
Our "Back to School" Zombie Event is scheduled for 5-10pm on Saturday Aug. 17th.
Cost: $25
If anybody just wants to be a Zombie for the night.  Please PM me and I will work out a deal with you.

This gives everybody the week before to focus on getting ready for school.  And gives you time to invite some more folks out.

Numbers will dictate the exact game play scenario.  But to help with that.  From 5-6:30 or 7 will be normal force on force to get everybody some trigger time so they aren't itching to just unload on the zombies.  Plus we won't have stragglers that we have to worry about explaining the game.
After that we will start the Zombie part of the Event.  And it gives time for the Night to begin to fall.

Zombies will be determined on that night.  Again the crowd dictates how this will happen.

I try and give people this piece of advice every time we do Zombie Events.  If you don't want to be a Zombie--STAY AWAY FROM THE ZOMBIEs!!!!!!!!  FOCUS ON THE MISSION FOR YOUR TEAM.  Picking a fight with a Zombie or 2 usually results in a BUNCH of Zombies attacking your position.  Which means you are going to be a Zombie.
I have seen good players never having to be a Zombie because they move using stealth and only shooting if they have to.  Achieve the mission and you should be safe.

We will have the metal plates in place for the zombies.  Everybody needs to aim for the chest area where the metal plates will be hanging.  Also this year we will be sure that the Zombies have a Dead Rags that they flash so they can get out of the fight.  And to let the shooters know not to shoot at them anymore.
There will be limited lighting.  So bring a flashlight if you have it.
Also everybody needs to bring a Pistol, Shotgun or Springer.  I am not saying you won't be able to use your AEG.  But we will be checking everybody's mags this time around.  You will start with 50 rounds for any and all Airsoft weapons you have.

More details to follow as this Event approaches.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask or PM me.

Thanks,
Jon and Lyn

Working on some different things for this.  Integrating in parts of all the past Zombie Events.  Trying to get a feel for numbers.  Attendee counts are so important.

There will be 3 different groups during the Night.

Zombies, Bandits and a Colony of Survivors (with specific missions).

Of course getting supplies is a major part of this.  But don't forget the Bandits always want what you have.  And the Zombies always want any surviving humans.

The Bandits only job is to Survive and TAKE EVERYTHING.  The Colony's job is to Survive and Achieve the missions to improve their future.  And possibly save the world.

Of course the Zombie's only job is to destroy and consume any life form.  There are crawlers, walkers and fast movers.  Take them out with one shot to the chest.  Don't waste Ammo and don't pick a fight with a Zombie.  There are usually many more where they come from.  Just focus on Stealth and achieving the mission(s)!!!  Strategy will help you here. Otherwise you will be infected and turned into a zombie

With all that said there will be a possible antidote in case there is time after being infected.  Of course if you are over ran with zombies there won't be any helping you. So Don't Pick A Fight with a Zombie!!!

There will be limited ammo. So make the shots count. And with bandits you really don't want to waste ammo. There will be ammo to be found inside.  But you and your team must look for it.
It will be a race to see who gets to the ammo, medicine and supplies first.

There will be breaks in the action to hydrate and cool off. Plus we have some small changes to the cqb during that time to make it a lot more interesting.

1 day until the Zombie Survival begins.

We have sent in an advance team. They have radioed back that they have found a warehouse with supplies. As they broke into the facility they found the inhabitants have been attacked and some of them have turned. They believe they have found a supply of the antidote. But before they were able to retrieve it all they were chased and have blockaded themselves inside a work vehicle they found inside.
We need to get our Team members back out and retrieve what supplies and antidote that we can.
We have 2 fears from their reports. First off they broke into the facility so we don't know how many undead have escaped. Be sure to eliminate these undead as you come across them. And because they have escaped we have no idea how many are still in there. So again be careful.
The 2nd thing we fear is because of all the gun fire while defending themselves that to much attention has been drawn and the Bandits from the North might be trying to get what we want.
So another thing we have to worry about. Be sure to conserve your ammo. And remember don't pick a fight with these undead. Find the antidote and all this will be over with. For Now...

Freaking.

Great.

Game.

I normally HATE zombie games because I don't like not being able to return fire.  I came, volunteered as a zombie and had a BLAST.

It helped the non-zombie players exercised trigger control--but their very limited ammo may have had something to do with it, too.  For the first time ever, I NEVER got overshot while a zombie.

So Go made a good call by first having some force-on-force games.  It let everyone get warmed up and get the need to shoot out of their systems.

Thanks to everybody that showed up. Great crowd. Larger than I expected but the weather was nice and good to do something like this right after school started.
Next is Block play next weekend and then Our Night Event on the last Saturday of the month in Springfield.

People are booking partys so be sure you get your scheduled soon. Slots are filling up. It is that time of the year again.

Thanks
Jon and Lyn
