What kind of guns do you guys like?
« on: March 26, 2014, 10:53:23 PM »
Boy did I just open up a can of worms. Do you guys like Metal Bodies, Plastic Body's, Rails, No rails, Solid or collapsible stocks. Long or Short Barrel rifles, Sub machine guns, Squad weapons, Bolt Actions, Pistols, Shotguns, Gas rifles and Sub machine guns? Now why? Tell us what made you want this kind of gun.

Me Personally I have always like the weight and feel of all metal rifles. I have both short and long ones from M-4's to M-16s. Ive always been a huge fan of the G&P brand. They are all metal, good weight, decently priced and have always had a very high reliability. They even incorporate a feature that im very happy about internally in the gearbox. This part is a steel stud that not made into the gearbox like other brands during casting, which eventually fails resulting in a new gearbox shell needing to be bought. I have had my current G&P for 5 years and thousands of trigger pulls. (as I'm not a full auto fan even when Sogo allowed it years ago) And it is still going strong.

As far as a pistol goes Ive always bought TM Pistols. I love the 2 M1911a1 models I currently have and use. These guns have been fantastic and I have only have 2 major issues and they really weren't that major. A piston o ring went out, so I upgraded to a aluminum Piston head and Magazine rubber feed lips on my mags, and that was just from excessive wear and tear. Outside of those issues they both work flawlessly when I use them and have continued to worked that way for over 5 years, with very little maintenance required.

I figured if they more or less started airsoft and everything is based of there original designs then they have to be extremely good pistols, not to mention they are made in Japan. Plus when I first got into airsoft there wasn't that many options like there is now days. This maybe out of some players price range, and I completely understand that. Buy what you can afford, and a gun that you really like.

Ok this is an awesome freaking subject Cody I have been waiting from someone to post something like this. Lets state something first... if you know me you know the platform I am particularly fond of if you dont welcome to my speech.

Rifle:
I am a Huge sig fan boy. The reason being is because my first real gun that i got was a jg 552 that i got from an ebay store because it was like 80 bucks. The reason why i chose the sg is because I love the folding stock feature on any rifle except on an AK. Another reason is because I am a huge fan of being unique as far as I can be as in ... not really getting things that everyone has. Reason 2 is because the mags interlock and makes it easier to travel with and carry more with less load i guess. Reason 3 the 552 is compact to the point of being really light so most of your loadouts are light aswell to keep everything flowing right. Which gets me to my next subject on this ... the cons
The Cons of being a sig fan boy... not very many people have these on the field so you can not just "borrow" a mag when your out. When something breaks on them the parts are not as easy to get for the gun like an M4, ak, and g36. That is the bad part about being unique with your guns if something goes down you better have a backup. Also if you have a backup you either have to stick with the sig plateform or you have to get more mags for your other guns. i myself own a g36, 552, 553... they all use different mags so i have lots of mags that i have to load before every game makes things a hassle.
All that being said though as far as brand it really is hard to say. There are a lot of brands that make these models ICS, G&G, JG, and TM. My personal opinion is that TM is by far the best sig you can buy because of how it holds up... JG i have a bad taste in my mouth from because of the last 5 years i have bought 3 jg's and all of them craped out within 2 games of play and I do not even want to talk about betsie. G&G and ICS are by far amazing quality but the problem with having great quality is that you can sometimes make things to unique on the gun. These 2 have the same mag well which for mags is hard to get since they are not TM combatible without any modifications. ICS makes a 75rd mid-cap that fits in both but that is $30 for 1 mag, but as far as internals ... amazing just amazing.
That concludes the Rifle seciton... recap:  SG552 awesome... ICS G&G TM be the brands of choice.

Now to sidearms...Once again if you know me you already know the answer.

GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK.... i say again GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK GLOCK. I love the glock... no external hammer so nothing can get into it to stop it from firing. Its light... like crazy light. I am the biggiest fan of the g17 by far because man its just double stack mags... the look... its just everything lol. Its hard for me to explain how enjoyable my glock is but the only other person that understands me is my Glock Brother Josh. This gun is just crazy durable aswell the reason why i state that is because well because the lower is polly and upper being medal when you drop this thing it always seems to land on the slide first so weird its like a cat. Another thing is I have Travisfied my we g17 and all that has broke the outter barrel and that is because I did not do anything to keep it up as in take care of it. This thing has been dropped... thrown...kicked... smacked into walls... left in the snow(fell out of my holster at bingfield)... fires in flawlessly in cold weather. I really could go on for days about this glock.
Now going onto brand for the glock... WE-Tech... hands down. I would not go with KWA/KSC or TM just becuase for 2 reasons I have yet to have a gun that i can just abuse the hell out of and it just take it...enjoy it... like it. The second reason being that its all about availablity of mags with me and how it holds up with prop and gg... TM(Plastic slide) not my choice. KWA/KSC(Mag issues and shoots hella hot). I think I have taken up enough of the space and More then likely most of you wont read this but either way enjoy the book.

Well played, sir.    Hmmm, let's see what ole' McClane has in his bag of guns.
I am a big fan of weapons from the 90's. Generally law enforcement stuff, or guns from the movies I grew up on.  So really anything without rails, if ya can believe it. Much like Helix, I believe the 1911a1 is a fine weapon that served our nation for many years and I'm usually never without my WE 1911 even if it's just in a backup role.
Rifles:
Winchester 1892 by ACM- DMR weapon, generally used with my western gear for best effect. Definitely a gimmick weapon as it is ridiculous to try and load under fire, but it is probably one of the coolest airsoft weapons I own.
Remington 700 by TSD - Bolt action, great backup rifle after my batteries die or in cold weather.
Black Ops M4- After seeing a video review by Diles46 and needing a beat 'em up battle rifle I opted for one of these. Not a bad little carbine, a 9.6 really gives it the umph to make it a good field weapon.

Pistols:
KJW M9- Sometimes finicky with all the stuff I've done to it over the years but a very classy piece that has yet to let me down.
WE 1911- Easily customized with lots of aftermarket parts, it is a solid pistol if a bit of a gas hog due to the slim magazines.
WE Glock 17- Probably the Honda Accord of guns, it is boring but extremely dependable and gas efficient. Double stack mags can hold a lot of ammo.
Wingun Revolver- Not practical at all, but fun and a real powerhouse. Shoots like a laser with .25 ammo. Goes well with my Winchester with the two shot derringer as backup.

I am a huge pistol nut, due to them being ridiculously fun to shoot. I still have quite a list of airsoft pistols that I wish they made and would probably pay stupid amounts of money for. Next on my list is to find a cheap WE Browning Hi Power just to finish up my Indiana Jones gear, that's the kind of idiosyncratic guns and loadouts I tend to favor.
So throw on your street clothes, get ya some good gunleather and be classy like me!       See you fellow gunfighters on the field soon!

Im a big fan of anything… well… different. Not to imply I prefer form over function, all I'm saying is that style point should be awarded to each team based on how "tacti-cool" their gear and guns look.
All kidding aside, having different guns isn't really a bad thing. It allows me to use a wide variety of unique setups along with getting familiar with the regular stuff. This way I can find out what really works for me and still enjoy getting second looks on the field. At the moment, the most appealing gun I can think of is the HK417, though one rifle that has really caught my attention lately is the G&G GK5C. I don't have any plans to buy a new gun anytime soon, but this would be a strong contender if I were.

As far as pistols go, I'll have to agree with Helix. My trusty Tokyo Marui holds a special place on my gun rack.
