What are you guys's thoughts on red dots? Are they helpful in the field? Are they worth it and if so how much? Thanks!

I've found them to be very helpful.  The hard bit is setting them up but once you've got them sighted in then it can work wonders.  Especially in low light siruations.

The sight won't tell you where every single bb will land (that's the nature of bbs) but it can tell you where most will go.  I'd have one on every long gun if I could.

So Go might have some in stock.  Some have the option of a red or green dot.  Check with them first.  Jon can order you something if he doesn't have it in stock.

I just got one at the gun show for my P90. IT ROCKS! I can shoot some amazing shots with it! It is by far the best add-on I've ever bought for a gun! Of course my TM P90 is already an incredibly accurate gun, but I believe the Red/Green reflex sight has increased performance substantially!

I have one I switch around between rifles, and its default setting is very close to the mark at the ranges I tend to shoot.  Even if it isn't exactly on-target, the red dot gives me an excellent reference for putting future shots where I want them at ranges I have the luxury to aim.

OP- what type is your gun? (e.g. M4, g36, mp5, etc.)

Some may need a mount if you are set on a red dot.
