I also had one a few years ago that kept braking. The older ones had better externals than internals. In fact, I was so mad I swore to boycott ICS for life. Over the last few years however, I've read several claims that they've corrected former problems. This and the affordable price of the MOD 5's finally wore me down enough to give them another shot, and so far, I don't regret it. I've had it since Febuary, probably have 2k rnds through it, and not so much as a hiccup. The old one's are easy to spot. The new one's have a heat sink motor plate, the old one's don't. Also, they have a slotted motor mount screw, while the old one's have an allen screw. And last, the new one's no longer have a Special Weapons Inc. logo.

That's a great little bit of information porkchop! That let's me know mine is a newer one with the heat sink and missing the Special Weapons Inc. not anywhere to be found on the gun.

I got mine knowing it had a wiring issue. I spent a good 8-10 hours at Bash's house last weekend while Recon and Bash worked on guns of thier own. It was quite amusing as we ALL had issues getting the guns to work and what not, but we teamed up to help each problem solved. My ICS didn't seem to want to even out until I threw in a new wiring harness that Recon had pulled out of his DMR and offered to anyone that wanted it. After that I ended up breaking one of the wire connection tabs off teh ICS motor. Bash then gave me his TM EG700 motor to throw into it. I did some minor upgrades and wired it to Deans. Right now this this screams with only a large (1800mah) sized 8.4v battery. Trigger response is great too. I need to chrono it to find out weather or not it's a SoGo gun or a field gun. One thing to add is that it is VERY accurate to boot. So far, I am very pleased with my ICS.

Good to hear, Metal. Too bad your motor flag snapped off. The turbo 3000 is one of the better stock motors on the market. If you can find one, the Marui EG1000 would really make it scream. Also, check and see if the end cap to the cocking tube unscrews. If it does, ICS has a laser for about 30 bucks that screws right in, and is dead on at 40ft. I like to sit on my deck and use mine to shoot red wasps. I have an A3, but I'm not sure if the SD's have this feature or not. If yours does, I recommend picking one up.

I would if I could, Shifty, but my camera is missing. If I find it I will, otherwise you can find other photos of on google. It's the same laser used in the ICS peq box. When screwed into the end off the mp5's cocking tube, you run the wire through the foregrip and have a self contained laser that sits right above the barrel. pressure switch is included. Although this accessory has been available for several years, I haven't seen anyone else with one. I really like it.

I know, I know, I've been stuck on this thread for days now. But to get back to the original question, I wanted to let netshark know that I did find a short review on the CXP in a back issue of Airsoft International (vol.6 iss.3). I know you're strictly a gas gunner at present, however if you do decide to give aeg's another chance the CXP, from what I've read, would be an excellent choice. According to AI comes with ball bearing bushings and the ROF is around 950rpm w/a 9.6. That's pretty inpressive. The GB is their "split style" so the cylinder set can be changed fast and easy. Also, the forward assist button when pushed will relax the spring automaticaly. Not to mention, the externals are very unique and give it a wicked appearance. No, I'm not a sales rep for ICS. I just like discussing what's new and different. Don't even get me started on KWA's! (lol)
