JGM4A1 enhanced
« on: March 19, 2012, 04:22:20 PM »
Ok, this is my first review, and Im still new so bear with me.

First I'll list its stats:

Specifications:
Gearbox Type: Type 2
Length: 680mm
Height: 225mm
Accuracy: 120 feet
Muzzle Velocity: 400 Plus fps
Magazine Capacity: 300 rounds
Battery Pack Size: Small battery
Body is Nylon polymer and barrel is a 1 piece metal.

When I first decided to buy a decent airsoft gun I combed site after site, and read review after review so that I could start to form an opinion as to what i wanted.  My second step was to go to my wife and ask her for a budget (any married guys out there will know why I did this), she told me $200.  So I decided to maximize my budget and try to find a good gun and a few accessories (I ended up with a vest and a face mask).

I had originally looked at a G&G combat machine M4 but as luck would have it (non-supporting retailer) was sold out, but they had a portion of their site called "what else is there" that I started to read.  In their article they had talked about the JG M4 enhanced so I started looking at it.  After 2 or 3 nights of sleeping on it I decided that this was the gun I wanted and I clicked purchase.

Upon receiving the gun I panicked, the box didn't say JG, but instead it said "Golden Eagle" airsoft on it (10 minutes of research and a phone call later I discover that they are the same company).  The gun was well packaged, with ample foam packaging and a foam "lid" over the gun in between it and the cardboard.  The gun's body is a dark gray versus its black stock and black hand guard, its body was solid with no wobble and it came with a standard orange flash suppressor.  It came with an 8.4v 1600mah battery and a full metal Hi-Cap magazine.  Now this is my first high quality gun so I immediately threw the battery in it (it came charged), filled the mag with the bb's it came with and stepped outside.  That first trigger pull was bliss, a crisp and clean pop pop pop and the little cardboard target I set up had holes, my boys and I are cheering and my wife thinks we're dorks :).

I've gotten to play a couple backyard games and a small 4 or 5 hour trigger day with 3 members of NOVA, my son, and a friend and his son.  So far the only problem I've had is the retainer screw in my stock fell out but that took 3 minutes rooting around in my junk drawer to fix (I had a small screw that fit).  I would say that I can accurately and with iron sites reliably hit a target 70 yards away 8 out of 10 shots.  The gun goes through soda cans and watermelons (yeah, that was fun) like a champ and probably spits about 15 rps.  The only thing I'd like to get for it is a holo sight and a 9.6v battery.

All in all I love this gun, I've got to shoot far more high end guns and Im still happy with mine.  This gun will be with me for my outside games (its WAY to hot for cqb) for years to come.

Im going to try to post some pics for you guys

I hope these work, I have horrible luck with posting pics.

I hope my review was helpful, I appreciate your time.

Good review, Fenix. I went through the ol' bait-n-barter shuffle with other online dealers over the years, as well. Glad to hear you didn't end up with a lemon. (Hey, it happens?!!) I also so run a holo-sight on one of my m4's, and it works and looks awesome. Be warned, however, they're really succeptable to damage from short range hits. (This also happens..) I already had mine rigged with a lexan shield to protect the lense, but a shot to the front left side left a dime sized hole in the battery compartment. Fortunately, I was able to fix it with some jb weld, and it looks good as new. I'm trying to come up with something now to protect this from happening again. You might not have to worry if you don't take any close range fire, but better safe then sorry.

BTW i just wanted to put this on here. At this op this past weekend i was a witnesss to the Awesomeness of this gun... now everyone keep in mind i am in no way shape or form a fan of the M4(im trying to sell mine). This gun... is insane... i mean it had the hopup turned all the way off... and this thing shot further then some of the DMR's that were out there. I have only seen one other gun shoot as far and accurate as this thing and its one of the d9 guys... i cant remember on OCT15 of last year they had a DMR that could pick you off from a huge distance. Anyways my point being Fenix was able to pick people off from across the Field at a distance i would say at least 175-200 feet ... i mean im sure im underselling the range... but it just seemed like this thing went on forever. There people from the oposite team that were actually backing off when they got into a fire fight with him. Anyways just giving praise to the gun(and its owner)

I do have to say that I was so very pleasantly surprised at how my gun fared at this op, I actually had one player tell me that if he saw me moving into a position that he would tell his squad to not attempt to engage us because I had an easy 100ft on them.
