Well I know most of the time the players dress up in their gear to always see if what they have is working or needs to be changed.  The more you use it the more refined your setup will get.  You find out your mag pouches aren't in the right place.  Or you need more.  Maybe find out you need a dump pouch.  Then you get that and try and that out.  And the process just keeps going from there.

Saying you need camo that looks like plywood is also a misconception.  Especially in CQB1 with the lights the way they are in there.  And when we move CQB2 lights into emergency mode.  There are so many shadows and different dark area's that you can disappear if you do what you are suppose to do.

Also it makes it easier to tell your teams apart.

I wear Jeans and Black up on top most of the time in the CQB.  When we have the US Marshals out to train that is what we use.

I hope that answers question.

And i guess i was manily asking because every time i go into sogo some one makes fun of my camo type and frankly i think its funny but still it cant hurt to ask right???

Well,

 That shouldn't be happening...

I think any camo options in Sogos ( or anywhere), is a nice step up from Civi type clothing.  ( Unless going contractor look, or like our famous INDY character, lol. )
To me, at least considering camo options, means you are putting a slight thought toward the game, and wearing something designed to take punishment over street clothes.

Some of our D-9 guys, have ripped their civi blue jeans in Sogos, just playing...

Not saying that I'd never wear them in Sogos either... if I felt like it, thats what i'd be wearing.

I had folks scoffing at me a few years back as well.  ( and maybe still... , I tend not to pay attention to the odd looks anymore.)
I was on a field of die-hard MilSimmers, they had KWA M4s, all the bells and whistles.
I had my JG g36 , my simple black alice belt set up, and I wore my swat bottoms ( black) with a off cammo t-shirt.
Needless to say, they laughed at me, and my gear.
I almost left because of it... but I decided to just keep at it, cause my love for airsoft was greater than my need to feel pride.

By the end of the day though... those that were being jerks, were very surprised to find out I was ex-military, and impressed with my "chepo AEG" ... of such I hung in neck and neck with the best of them out there that day.  They reconsidered every aspect about me, and players like me.
Not only did I earn their respect that day... many went back and started putting together their own " scavenger" contractor look.

Since then, I got over what people "judged"  me by, and stopped caring about if I didn't make the grade, or be "realistic" in gear placement.
I found what works for me... mostly. It's a continual "learning" that is ongoing I think.

I don't think it's nice to poke fun at people for their gear and what they got.

The only bad players I've ever met, were players that cheated, or broke rules, or bent them to degree that was unacceptable.  None of that had to do with GEAR itself, as these players were fully outfitted with nice things.
Never was it ever a "bad player" based on their gear choices.

Why would someone make fun of you because of your camo type at So Go? That's just not right, I like to where camo when I play airsoft just because it looks so freakin' cool. But also, I've worn a pair of jeans and my Coke t-shirt there plenty of times. If someone is making fun of you at So Go because of your camo type it's just because they're jealous of your awesomeness! 8)

Last time I was there, I do think I recall Jon had alot of black pouches in his selection.

I myself picked up a nice triple mp5 pouch that day, but I didn't actually look at the rest to know if any were AK style.
I would think he would have them though, as AKs are very popular ...

I do think he had a chest rig that was black , and nice on the rack as well.  I almost bought it... lol. I didn't becasue I have a system already I've been trying to outfit.

Joe will have your hide for that....

I get most of my pouches at a Army Surplus store.
I don't know what brand the US Military uses but these pouches have yet to fail and I don't take that good care of my gear.
Formally known as Delt.

Sometimes you have to do a good deal of research to find out who got the contract to produce any given product that the military uses. Delt is right though, the military ones are tacticool or super high speed, but they're tough as nails.

Fun fact: In WWII, to keep up with production demands on weapons several manufacturing factories were shut down and re-tooled to produce rifels, carbines, and  pistols instead. Some M1 Garands are out there were made by International Harvester (a farm equipment company) and some 1911's were made by Singer (a sewing machine company) and a whole slew of companies made M1 Carbines like IBM, Rock-Ola Music Corp., National Postal Meter, and Inland which was a division of GM. So really who freakin' knows who REALLY made what in the military. It's all made to the same specs and always to a certain standard of quality, so they can only be so crappy no matter what 'it' is.

Dragon that is a good experience man i like how everything worked out in the end and you showed them that it doesnt matter what you wear it matters what you do with it. When i first started playing backyard games with my springers it was the whole leather jacket and breakaway pants. When i started at sogo it was Desert(cause i like tan... dont ask) and that was fun. Also not to mention that i didnt really understand what i was doing with Airsofting till i actually got started! I now have a team of family that we try to look as much of the "The part" as we can.
Its funny cause i have a something interesting as well. Has anyone played the Game MAG for ps3? If not there are 3 factions S.V.E.R, Valor, Ravan... anyways one of my team members plays sevor and he started makeing his airsoft play-fit(Thats play outfit... i just didnt want to seem... you know) like them. lets see if i can post a good pic of it. Ok i couldnt insert the picture for some reason but it doesnt matter. There basicly like a person with a gun... cargo pants...hoodie...and an AK. That is just awesome and the look is pretty cool it kinda looks like a hobo with a gun and its awesome! Anyways just my 2 cents lol

Lol, exactly...

when I first discovered airsoft, it was actually an "after-thought" as I was browsing around walmart's adult toy section ( the sporting goods).

Since day 1, I've had a "vision" of something that goes beyond even MilSim participation.

Problem is, I'm like 1 out of 1,000 people that would dare to do much "different".

Of course, I got sucked into the realism, and tactics of higher grade airsoft, and MilSim, of such I enjoy very much.

But, my originating idea, has never taken hold or effect... a Airsoft Combat Simulation LARP , a real LARP ... outrageous loadouts and outfits , complete story lines, and acting out real roles developed by the participants themselves.
